“Jiju Soft will lead Korea’s coding education”
Suk Chun-hee, Vice President of Jiju Soft

The coding education in elementary school begins from this year on a gradual pace but compulsory in middle school and a choice in high school. The government introduced the coding education to the national curriculum in accordance with global trend reflecting the buzzing word that covers newspapers all most everyday: ‘The 4th Industrial Revolution’. If the computer education was about how to use it in the past, it is about how to create a program in the future. The ability of thinking, creating and problem solving which must be required for coding also can play an important part in raising the ability of man. “Lot learning is meaningless when it comes to coding because the technologies are ever advancing. This is the reason ‘coding education’ must be self-motivated to understand the mechanism and its application” says Suk Chun-hee, Vice President of Jiju Soft. Jiju Soft has 20 years of knowledge and experience in software education. “The proactive learning of Jiju Soft has raised thinking power and creativity of learners. It combined somewhat boring subjects of software with philosophy, history and humanities in order to make the class fun and useful. I believe that it will foster normal young people in Korea to be talented manpower who will lead the AI-driven future world.” Since the establishment in 1983 where ‘computer’ was an unfamiliar word to many Koreans, Jiju Soft has poured its passion in software education and has fostered numerous prizing winning students including the grand prize at the 2003 International Olympiad in Informatics. “The robot and AI technologies will bring many ‘You’re sacked!’ but new jobs we have never imaged before. Computational thinking, therefore, is a must to prepare for this coming age and it will cover almost all industries.” Many people still doubt whether this computational thinking is necessary but one thing is certain and that is ‘coding education’ is happening globally.
