문재인 대통령, 국립서울현충원 참배
문재인 대통령은 지난 2일 아침, 서울 국립현충원을 참배했다. 이날 참배는 이낙연 국무총리 등 국무위원 18명, 방송통신위원장, 국무조정실장, 공정거래위원장 등 장관급 인사 15명, 인사혁신처장, 법제처장 등 차관급 13명과 청와대 참모진 20여명과 함께했다. 문재인 대통령은 현충탑에 조화를 헌화하고 순국선열과 호국영령에 경례한 후 묵념했다.

문재인 대통령. 거제도 대우조선해양 쇄빙 LNG선박 건조 현장 방문
문재인 대통령은 지난달 3일 오전, 경상남도 거제시에 있는 대우조선해양 옥포조선소를 방문해 쇄빙선 건조 현장의 노동자들을 만나 격려했다. 이날 방문에는 산업통상부, 해양수산부 장관과 금융위원장, 북방경제위원장, 북방경제위원회 민간위원, 특별고문, 청와대 관계자들이 동행했고 대우조선해양 사장, 중앙연구원장, 옥포조선소장, 노조위원장 등이 대통령 일행을 맞이했다.
대통령은 쇄빙선의 성능, 조선소의 시설, 수주 현황에 대해 묻고 질의응답 시간도 가졌다. 대통령은 LNG운반선과 연료선 개발과 기술 공유 등에 대해 질문했고 대우조선해양은 LNG 연료선을 자사에서 세계 최초로 개발했다고 밝혔다. 또한 조선 3사가 공동으로 설계 기술을 연구하고 있다고 설명했다. 조선 3사의 공동 연구에 대해 대통령은 '서로 경쟁하면서도 상생하는 모습을 기대한다'고 말했다.

문재인 대통령, 2018 신년인사회 개최
문재인 대통령은 지난달 2일 새해를 맞아 각계 인사들을 초청한 신년인사회를 열었다. 청와대 2층 영빈관 중앙홀에서 오찬을 겸해 져열린 인사회에는 3부 요인, 각 당 대표, 청와대 관계자들을 비롯해 애국지사와 예술가, 경제인, 다양한 이유로 특별히 초청된 시민들이 참석해 신년회의 의미를 더했다.
주빈 테이블에는 문재인 대통령과 김정숙 여사를 중심으로 정세균 국회의장, 이진성 헌법재판소장, 권순일 중앙선거관리위원회 위원장, 한승헌 전 감사원장, 박승 전 한국은행 총재, 오희옥 애국지사, 이희아 피아니스트, 송기인 신부, 최재형 감사원장, 이낙연 국무총리, 김명수 대법원장이 함께 자리했다. 
오희옥 애국지사는 올해 91세로 할아버지와 아버지에 이어 3대째 독립운동을 한 여성독립운동가다. 함께 자리한 피아니스트 이희아 씨는 '네 손가락 피아니스트'로 널리 알려진 연주자로 장애를 극복하고 활발한 연주활동을 하며 많은 이들에게 영감을 주고 있다.
이희아 씨는 '어메이징 그레이스'와 '넌 할 수 있어' 를 연주하며 노래를 불렀다. 이희아 씨는 김정숙 여사가 성악을 전공했다는 점을 일깨우며 함께 합창을 해 줄 것을 요청하기도 했다. 김정숙 여사와 참석자들은 이희아 씨의 연주에 따라 합창했고 참석자들은 휴대폰 카메라로 촬영하기도 했다. 헤드 테이블에 앉은 이낙연 총리, 정세균 국회의장, 김이수 재판관도 박수치며 호응했고 김정숙 여사도 노래를 크게 따라 불렀다. 노래가 끝난 후 문재인 대통령은 무대로 올라가 이희아 씨를 격려했다. 대통령은 신년회 연설에서 참석자들에게 감사를 표하고 새해의 비전과 다짐을 밝혔다. 특히 '나라를 나라답게 만드는 일'과 '공정하고 정의로운 나라'를 강조했다.

Moon pays respect at Seoul National Cemetery
President Moon visited Seoul National Cemetery on 2 last month and paid respect to those who fought and lost their lives in protecting their own country. Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, 18 Cabinet Members, 15 ministers, 13 deputy ministers and 20 staff of the Blue House accompanied Moon on the day.

Moon tours DSME in Geoje
President Moon toured Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Geoje on 3 last month and encouraged shipbuilders. Moon and his staff and a number of ministers were greeted on the day by DSME CEO Jung Sung-leep, the union leader and related officials. Moon asked about the performance of icebreakers, facilities of the shipyards and ordering status through Q&A. Moon also showed interest in LNG carriers, development of fuel carriers and sharing of technologies. It is notable that DSME developed LNG carrier for the first time in the world and Korea’s big three shipbuilders are working together on design technique. Moon then said that it was good to see the three big shipbuilders compete each other but also work together when necessary. 

Moon hosts New Year’s meeting
President Moon hosted New Year’s meeting on 2 last month at the Blue House by inviting department heads, political parties, patriots, businessmen and artists. Oh Hee-ok aged 91 this year in particular is a third generation independence activist after her grandfather and father while pianist Lee Hee-ah is most famous for playing the instrument with only four fingers. Lee sang and played ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘You Can Do It (sung by Kang San Ae)’. She was bold enough to ask First Lady Kim Jung-sook who majored in vocal music to sing along and the favor was duly answered. The sing along gradually became a choir and Moon stepped up onto the stage to encourage Lee after the performance. Moon closed the meeting by emphasizing on each division of the government doing their very best in building ‘a nation founded on justice’.
