Building a wonderland in the heart of the city
28 years of creating playground for children
CEO Yang Tae-hong of Dreamland

Appointing as excellent children’s playground
Dreamland was established in April 1988 and itis one of the first companies which applied simulation technology and themed facilities to various children’s playground and public resting place around kindergartens, parks, apartment blocks, schools and research complexes. One in Clover Apartment especially was praised by many for its theme park-like atmosphere and another one in Budnae Apartment was appointed as an excellent playing field in 2012 by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. Dreamland passed Wood Preservative Test carried out by the Korea Forest Service in 2006 and obtained Q mark in 2012 as well as Safety Certificate from the Korea Conformity Laboratories. Dreamland so far has carried out around 1,000 projects for kindergartens and nurseries covering from design, construction to maintenance and has made its firm status in the field. The recently revised laws allow local governments to give support for maintenance and improvement expanses for children’s playgrounds, included indoors as part of playground, and brought up tougher safety rules. This means that a company must have related technologies and certificates that can meet the standard and Dreamland in this respect is fully qualified.

Wooden and PE materials for creating safe playgrounds
Dreamland is famous for creating an excellent space for playing, resting, sporting and gardening around parks and buildings by usingvarious physical training facilities, drinking fountains, mini gardens, litters, camp sites and forest lodges customized to each area. In addition, Dreamland avoids using concrete and cement but uses eco-friendly materials such as EPDM for jogging lanes or sand, lawn and elastic flooring materials for children’s playgrounds. Yang says “Things to play, to see, to rest and safetyare the four most important elements when creating a playground. Then sophisticated design, efficient layout and good materials are added to give uniqueness and eco-friendliness. And we pay particular attention when choosing the materials we use such as wood, PE and stainless steel for protection of children’s body. Our excellent maintenance services also cannot be missed to mention.”

Playground that encourages children’s creativity and adventurous spirit
Yang continues “We make an integral playing facility by taking into account children’s dynamic movement lines. Children can touch the things and run around and express their creativity and adventurous spirit. We can create a space regardless the size and all the construction is done by us without depending on any subcontractor for safety reason. We also use elastic materials and sands which can help stimulate the five senses of children.”Apart from running Dreamland, and as an ardent fan of Sport for All, Yang has actively engaged in climbing and ice skating and worked as Chairman ofthe Korea Skating Union Daejeon Branch and is working as Chairman of Daejeong Rock Climbing School Alumni. <Power Korea> hopes that Dreamland will keep contributing to creating a better playground and resting place for children and people in Korea.
