The young delegation ‘DREAMERS’ promoting Korea to the world
CEO Lee Sung-hwan of ICOOS
Communication, exchange and being friends of the world

It is always good for young people to go out to see and experience the world. They can have inspiration and knowledge and build up their future vision and dream. If you are one of those who want to see and experience the world, you had better know about the international communicative organization ICOOS. It shares cultures and dreams with friends of the world and provides an opportunity for young people to go out to the world, build experience, find their dream and challenge the difficulties. Under the vision of ‘Dream’, ‘Share Cultures’ and ‘World Friends’, ICOOS was established in 2008 and it introduced ‘Dreamers’, the program which combined travel in Europe with cultural exchange. About the difference of Dreamers from the existing backpacking, CEO Lee explains “Dreamers Europe is our best program. A group of Dreamers is consisted of 48 people divided into 6 to 7 squads. They work together to find ways to promote Korea to the world and participate in ‘Hi Korea Festival’ in Munich, Germany and ‘Avignon Festival’, known as one of the world’s top 3 festivals, in France during 20 to 21 days of the tour.” ‘Hi Korea’ in particular is organized by ICCOS on the approval of the City of Munich and local residents can experience Korean food, clothes, calligraphy and playing as well as K-POP, Taekwondo (Korean martial art), Samulnori (Korean percussion quartet) and Fan Dance (Korean dance with fans).

“The size of experience decides the size of one’s dream”The activities of the group then are put up on blogs, SNS and UCC images. The process of building experience, teamwork and respect is shared between the participants as well as with their friends in the world and Lee says that this will be good nutrition for them to grow up. ICOOS and Dreamers also have grown up much. Dreamers actually started with only 20 people but it has grown to attract 800 people a year and the areas now cover China and Japan in addition to Europe. 2,322 young people aged 18 to 28 have participated so far and took a great part to promote Korea to the world as private diplomatic mission. The next round of tour is currently being organized at the moment and is launching on 20 June. CEO Lee says “Some people said that we are the whole of our experience. It’s true and I think that the size of experience decides the size of one’s dream. I hope more and more young people go out to see and experience the world over Korea and try, challenge and make their dream come true.” Power Korea sends a message of support to Lee and ICCOS.
