한국의 뷰티산업이 점점 발전하면서 국제대회 입상자가 늘어나고 평생직종으로 주목받으면서, 헤어, 피부미용, 네일아트의 국가자격증에 이어 2016년에는 메이크업 부문에서도 국가자격증이 추가 신설될 예정이다. 10월 초 열린 미국 애틀랜타의 유명 바디아트 축제인 ‘리빙 아트 아메리카(Living Art America)’에서 수강생인 장준혁 아티스트가 지난 대구국제바디페인팅페스티벌 입상, 2014년 대만 국제미용대회입상에 이어 당당히 1위를 수상하며 강남캠퍼스의 우수한 교육수준을 다시금 입증했다. 일류 메이크업아티스트들의 산실로 불리는 MBC아카데미뷰티스쿨 중 2003년 첫 번째로 개원한 강남캠퍼스는 국제 네일대회의 그랜드챔피언, 메이크업 대회 프로부문에 연이어 입상하며 교육기관으로서의 명성을 굳건히 하고 있다. 유정은 원장은 “강남캠퍼스를 시작으로 2015년 현재 전국 43개 캠퍼스가 있으며, 국내외 수강생들과 뷰티 애호가들이 집결하는 대한민국 뷰티아트의 중심지 강남의 트렌드를 반영해 새로운 교육과정과 기술들을 빠르게 접목하고 있다”고 소개한다. 해외 아티스트들의 전유물이었던 뷰티에어브러시 메이크업과정을 국내 최초로 도입해, 2년 만에 전국 캠퍼스의 교육과정에 추가되었을 뿐 아니라 에어브러시 1,2급 자격증이 신설되는 쾌거에 적지 않은 기여를 했다.

Providing solutions for K-beauty and career path
The Korean beauty industry is ever growing as numerous Korean beauty specialists are winning prizes at various international competitions. Related national qualifications in hair, skin care and nail art have already been introduced and one in makeup will also be introduced in 2016. Among the winners, Junhyeok Jang from MBC Academy School Gangnam Campus won a prize at Daegu International Body Painting Festival and 2014 Taiwan International Beauty Competition. He also won the first prize at Living Art America held in Atlanta US in early October this year. The Gangnam Campus was the first one which opened its door among the schools in 2003 and it won the grand champion’s prize at International Nail Competition and Makeup Competition in the professional category.

Director Yu said “Starting with Gangnam Campus, there are currently 43 campuses. As the center of K-beauty, Gangnam Campus provides trendy curriculum and techniques to our students.” The campus first introduced what used to be the overseas beauty artists’ exclusive property ‘Beauty Airbrush Makeup Course’ in Korea and the course was added to the curriculums of all campuses within two years. The first and second grade qualifications were also introduced soon after. Yu became the first member of the examination committee and she attracted a great attention by providing students the patterns of practical examination in video images. Due to its easily accessible location, students from the whole nation and even overseas prefer to study at Gangnam Campus.

Director Yu said “Thanks to the opening of Sinnonhyeon Station of Line No.9, we are receiving more local students. Most of them are in their 20s and 30s who wish to get a job and we are running a field training team for them according to each special field. In addition, our qualification courses are provided by excellent instructors who have more than 10 years of experience in the field. The campus provides practical and customized training, regularly invites renowned foreign beauty artists to share global trend through a seminar, runs scholarship and supports entry fees for international competitions.
