조명의 세대교체, 고효율·고성능의 ‘LED 시대’를 선도하다

조명의 패러다임이 바뀌고 있다. 백열램프에서 형광램프로, 다시 삼파장램프로 이동했던 조명 트렌드가 LED조명으로 옮겨가며 ‘LED 시대’의 본격적인 개막을 알린 것이다. 특히 고효율과 긴 수명 등의 장점에도 불구하고 높은 가격과 회로 고장 문제 탓에 폭넓은 활용이 어려웠던 단점을 극복한 제품들이 최근 속속 등장하며 21세기 光 혁명을 주도하고 있다.

LED 시장에 새로운 바람을 불어넣다
LED는 발광 다이오드(Light Emitting Diode)의 약자로 전기를 흘려주면 빛을 발하는 반도체 소자를 말한다. LED 조명은 전기에너지가 빛에너지로 전환되는 과정에서 소모되는 에너지의 양이 매우 적은 고효율 제품이다. 또한 빛의 강도와 색상을 사용자의 상황에 따라 다양하게 조절할 수 있으며, 형광 램프와 같이 눈에 보이지 않는 깜빡임 현상(flickering)이 없어 눈의 부담을 줄일 수 있다. 
박동홍 대표는 “LED 조명은 기존의 백열전구, 삼파장, 메탈할라이드, 세라믹메탈할라이드 등이 해결하지 못했던 숙제를 풀어내 21세기 차세대 광원으로 크게 주목받으며 그 시장을 점차 확대해가고 있습니다. 무엇보다 가장 큰 장점은 백열 램프와 할로겐 램프의 수명보다  훨씬 긴 10만 시간으로 반영구적으로 사용할 수 있어 제품교체로 인한 비용과 번거로움을 줄일 수 있다는 점입니다”라고 설명했다.

차별화된 특허기술로 글로벌 시장을 노리다
대림엘이디의 주력제품 중 하나인 모듈형 LED가로등은 각도조절이 용이하고 방열 및 통풍효과를 향상시킨 제품이다. 공랭 극대화 설계구조로 원활한 통풍 및 방열을 실현할 뿐 아니라 각도 조절 플레이트를 장착하면 암 각도를 필요에 따라 바꿀 수 있다는 것이 장점이며, 넓은 Pipe 호환성과 낮 시간 온도상승에 의한 부담을 줄이기 위한 모듈보호 커버도 장착하고 있다. 또 다른 주력제품인 LED 투광등의 경우 지난 10월 고효율 에너지 인증을 취득한 제품으로 공장 및 대형건물, 경계등의 용도로 최고의 효율을 낼 수 있도록 설계·제작되었다. 직관적인 관리기능과 안전점등 기능을 제공하는 특허기술이 포함되어 있으며, 문제 발생시 원활하고 손쉬운 해결이 가능해 고객만족 부분에서 높은 평가를 받고 있다. 최근 개발된 신제품 ‘All In One 등기구’는 하나의 외함으로 가로등, 보안등, 투광등, 터널등의 모든 포지션에 대한 적용이 가능한 제품으로 연색성 75, 광효율 100lm/W 이상의 최고 성능으로 올해 조달등록 및 판매를 준비하고 있다. 

대림엘이디의 LED조명 제품이 여타 업체의 그것과 차별화되는 가장 큰 특징은 특허 받은 LED 발열제어기술을 통해 전력소비를 더욱 낮추고 수명을 획기적으로 향상시켰다는 점과 자동화 라인을 구축해 생산원가를 절감함으로써 상대적으로 합리적인 가격경쟁력을 확보했다는 점, 그리고 제품 검사를 위한 첨단 기자재를 완비해 불량률 0.1% 미만의 품질과 검증된 신뢰성을 유지하고 있다는 점이다. 대림엘이디는 이러한 경쟁력을 바탕으로 지난 2014년 조달청 도로조명분야  납품실적 2위를 달성하는 쾌거를 이루기도 했다.

Lighting is changing in paradigm. The trend has moved from incandescent to fluorescent, three-wavelength and then LED lamp heralding the earnest opening for ‘LED’ days.’ Especially, products has recently appeared one after another overcoming the difficulty for wide use due to high prices and break in the circuit, despite the strengths of high efficiency and long life, to lead the 21st-century revolution in illumination.    

A new wind in the LED market 
LED, an abbreviation for Light Emitting Diode, means semiconductor device which emits light when electricity is delivered. LED lighting is a high-efficiency product with very little amount of energy consumed in the process of change from electrical into light energy. LED can adjust the intensity and color of lights diversely to user’s circumstances and reduce the burden of eyes without invisible flickering like a fluorescent lamp.   

President Park Dong-hong explained, “LED lighting has solved the problem with the existing light bulb, three-wavelength, metal halide and ceramic metal halide. As the next-generation light source in the 21st century, it is largely attracting attention and expanding its market gradually. The biggest strength is its lifespan of 100,000 hours, much longer than incandescent and halogen lamps, and its semi-permanent use can reduce the expenses and inconvenience caused by replacing products.”

Daerim LED, which was founded in 1988, has engaged in lighting industry for the past 27 years and piled up unique technology and knowhow’s. Especially, since the company entered into LED lighting industry in 2006, it has obtained numerous certifications for excellent procurement, KS, environment, performance , venture business, technological innovation-type smaller enterprise as well as a host of intellectual property rights including patent, practical new device and design, firmly establishing itself as ‘LED lighting company.’ It is also conspicuous as a promising exporter as leader of Korean LED lighting technology in finding a global market as selected for the Office of Supply’s PQ enterprise for advance overseas, UN’s eligible bidder, etc.

We established our own research institute to develop products with higher efficiency, stability and innovation. Cooperating closely in business and research with neighboring venture enterprises and Pohang Technical College Institutes, we are doing our best to apply technology faster and enhance quality.” As the result of such efforts, Daerim LED won the prize from Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy in 2007, from the Prime Minister and the grand prize for green energy in 2008.

Targets the global market with differentiated patented technology 
Module-type streetlamp, one of Daerim LED’s flagship products, is the one with easy control of angles and enhanced protection against heat and ventilation. It not only realizes smooth airing and protection against heat with the design of maximizing air-cooling but has the strength of capacity to change angles as need arises by installing the plate for adjusting angles. It is also equipped with module protection cover to reduce the burden caused by daytime rise in temperature with wide compatibility for pipe. LED floodlight, another flagship product, obtained certification for high-efficiency energy in last October and was designed and manufactured to produce the highest efficiency for the purpose of factory, large building and alert. Comprising patented technology that provides the functions of intuitive management and safe lighting, it is enjoying a high repute for customer satisfaction because smooth and easy solution is possible when problem occurs. ‘All-in-one lamp,’ a new product developed lately, can be applied to all positions including streetlamp, security lamp, floodlight and tunnel with one enclosure, and with its top performance of color rendition 75 and luminescence efficiency over 100lm/W, it is preparing for listing on procurement and sales. 

As the biggest characteristics of Daerim’s LED lighting products in differentiation from the other companies,’ it even lowered electric consumption and enhanced lifespan dramatically through LED heat generation control technology. It also constructed automation lines and reduced the cost of production to relatively secure rational price competitiveness. It has been well-equipped with advanced equipment for inspecting products, maintaining quality under 0.1% of defective rate and proven reliability. Based on such competitiveness, Daerin LED achieved the 2nd place in delivery record for road lighting for the Office of Supply in 2014. 
Currently, Daerim LED is building an automated plant capable of mass production near its Busan head office. President Park clarified, “Through modulization and automated production, we are going to respond positively to the competition in unit price which is becoming serious in LED market recently. Besides, we will positively participate in domestic and foreign exhibitions to cultivate the market and set about finding market earnestly by composing and operating an exclusive team for overseas marketing.” He also said that by producing products with performance much better than other players in luminescence efficiency and color rendition, a scale for LED technology, he will become the top-class LED lighting producer at home and abroad and achieve the aim of listing on KOSDAK by 2018. Daerim LED is planning on advancing to the global market based on its excellent quality, price competitiveness and after-sale service for customer satisfaction. Their movements ahead will be catching our eyes and ears just like Korea’s.
