Dabisu, the principle of numbers

According to a research, 36.5% of the 6th graders, 42.5% of the 3rd graders of middle school and 59.6% of the 3rd graders of high school have given up mathematics. This indicates that the Korea's education system somewhat needs a change. The Ministry of Education actually introduced 'descriptive math' and 'storying telling math' but they are becoming a new burden to some schools and academies. Specialists say that a fundamental change of the educational paradigm is urgent. As part of the effort, CEO Gapsook Choi of EBB Study introduced special method called 'Dabisu' meaning a variety of ways to math based on his 15 years know-how in teaching math through 7 of his academies in Gangnam District, Seoul. Choi said "most school parents want their children learn math in speed. They force them to memorize multiplication table as soon as they finish addition and deduction. The problem is that they eventually lose interest in math because they do not understand its principle."

EBB Study's Dabisu shows students how to play with the number from 0 to 9. It makes them to be familiar with the numbers and to draw the images of the numbers in their head.
