Feeling the pulse of healthy trend
People's interest in being healthy is universal. The difference now is that keeping health has become a trend while it was something people had to do in the past. Kim established Korea's first high quality cultivated wild ginseng brand as he focused on promoting health as a culture. Kim combined traditional elements with modern demands and launched a traditional teahouse called Dasis (Da means tea in Chinese).

Alongside a variety of Korean teas and differentiated coffee, you can taste 27 kinds of healthy food at Dasis. Opened in last February, Dasis achieved of signing 100 contracts of opening a branch within 3 months and currently is working on the interior of the 40th branch. Kim says "it's a result of our reflecting the modern people's demands in having healthy food. Of course it was not easy to start this business. I planned the business in 2012, did a business simulation in Korea but launched in China and Vietnam first to check whether it was marketable or there was a systematic problem. The business was successful in both countries and we are now sure to be successful in Korea as well." Dasis currently is preparing to open branches in Masan, Changwon, Jinju, Sucheon, Daegu, Busan and Bucheon and is planning to open more branches in Daejeon, Ilsan, Gwangju, Jinhae and Cheongju by the end of May. Their goal is to open 1,000 branches nationwide by the end of the year. It is expected that Dasis will provide sustainable profits as people's interest in involving in the business is increasing. 

Introducing a new method to enjoy tea
Many specialists said that the food franchise market is saturated in Korea considering the fact that there are 5 or 6 coffee shops within the boundary of 100 meters in down town. But Kim is nevertheless confident with his business item. While the existing coffee shops requires an initial capital of at least $65,000 but Dasis requires only $39,000 including deposit and interior. This does not mean the materials used in the store are cheap but Kim is providing quality source materials through another of his company Wonki Sansam as well as taking advantage of purchasing a bulk of materials at a reduced price. This means that the initial capital of a Dasis store is worth $70,000. Also, Dasis is the only place where people can taste Squirrel Coffee. Squirrel can be translated as Consoc in Vietnamese. The squirrels, which live in a 1,500 meter mountain in Vietanam, eat Consoc coffee beans and release the beans as waste and people wash, process, ferment and mature these released beans to make coffee. Squirrel Coffee has deep scent and smooth taste and is getting popular among the manias. Through their thorough market analysis on customers's wants for the last one year, Dasis launched Beancero Consoc in June to introduce squirrel Coffee for the first time in Korea. The advantage of Dasis is that they serve and sell healthy teas and unique coffee as well as various healthy food at one place. 

The new concept food franchise that guarantees you a sustainable profit
The idea of Dasis is to build a 'resident friendly food franchise'. This can be a great advantage for those who want to involve in the business as they do not need a big lump sum to open a store like one in down town. Kim considered four things when started Dasis. Firstly, to create sustainable profits. For this, each store is directly managed for 2 years for sustainable profits and consistent administration and then becomes an affiliated store. Secondly, to reduce deposit and to apply Commercial Building Lease Protection Act. Compared to a normal 2 year lease, the act allows the lease to last for 5 years at least so that the store owners feel safe with securing their place. Thirdly, to provide systematic start-up service. Stable operation of each store is very important for sustainable profits. For this reason, Dasis thoroughly analyse the store spot for investors to choose a right one through a special team. Lastly, to provide meticulous post management. If a store does not make profits, a special team is dispatched to the store to improve management, operation and even the location if necessary. Kim says "we are not talking about just normal traditional teahouse. Like Starbuck created a unique culture over just selling coffee, Dasis will spread traditional Korean culture to the world." As the next stage of his business, Kim is planning to launch the world's first social commerce game 'SOCIETY' which will be an alternative in the market. Kim has invested $2.5M for 3 years and the game is to be released in China, Vietnam and Korea in June simultaneously. The game combined 'simulation game' with 'social commerce' and is expected to lead the market as a new concept distribution platform.
