Playing a role model for cooperative enterprises
Business Promotion Support Center Project was started in 2011 as part of supporting SMEs. It has achieved improvement of SMEs' productivity and expansion of employment. The center provides analysis on each SME and has increased growth rate by %10 compared with the previous year in the fields of development of new products, application for patents and R&D. In addition to existing four centers in Banwol-Sihwa, Gumi, Changwon and Gwangju, three more centers have been opened this year in Wonju, Cheonan and Pangyo. The centers are contributing to increasing sales, exports, employment. The center in Changwon among them promotes SMEs in 5 base complexes (Changwon, Ulsan, Noksan, Sacheon, Yangsan) and 43 connected complexes. The center also solves the problems the companies have and carries out mini-cluster project support. The head of center Min Hong-chul said "it is our goal to promote SMEs in Dongnam Industrial Complex to world best companies." 

For this, the center appointed promising companies in the complex and is carrying out various supporting programs to make them highly competitive in the market. The center provides useful information about support programs of Korea Industrial Complex Corp, Small and Medium Business Administration, local governments and government funded institutes. They also provides business connection with them. For excellent SMEs, the center provides consulting services regarding mutual cooperation with affiliated companies. This is highly praised in terms that the appointed companies can have opportunities to work with related companies. Major companies give a support to strengthen affiliates' capabilities through joint production, distribution and development of technology. Affiliates on the other hand give a support for quality improvement, technology development and human resources. Meanwhile, the center gathers information about the market and consumers and provides marketing strategy so that the chosen companies can grow into Cluster-Excellent (mutual growth model) companies. 

Min said "we give a support for mutual growth of major, SMEs and affiliates so that they can grow into Cluster-Excellent companies through our consulting framework. We analyse core projects of mutual growth and make companies share their growth vision by establishing a CEO Association. We also provide consulting to each project, establish their role to share the results, and give regular management support."

Promoting effective growth through objective company analysis system
The center's company support is divided into three stages: 'Company Analysis', 'Sectional Training, Consulting and Problem Solving' and 'Post Management'. Company Analysis, for example, involves strengthening competitiveness, developing analysis program on growth engine, and making a data base. This method is an effective tool to make companies aware of their current status. The process of Company Analysis should go through 'finding companies and detecting problems' - 'gathering information about the company' - 'establishing an analysis team' - 'analysing and report' - 'making a date base'. The tasks from the process are divided into 8 parts (production, quality, purchasing, IT, marketing, financing, R&D and HR) based on Mackinsey's 7S model. And then the solutions are suggested according its own importance and level. 

The center chose additional 5 companies through putting up a notice last March and screening in April and is supporting them to build their competitiveness through '3 Year Mid & Long Term Growth Road Map'. Currently, there are 12 companies which received a support from the center and there are: Najae, Duksung Metal Industrial, Daeguntech, Bukuk Precision Industries, Samu, Samco, Add Tech, Widin, Jeongmin Electric, Tae-Rim and TIC Min says "we will keep finding growth engines in Dongnam area and promote them to be highly competitive companies through our customized growth support programs."
