Customer satisfaction delivered throughout the process
Opens a new chapter for secondhand car dealings with the principle of confidence and satisfaction
Park Jong-dae, president of Cheonchamancha Automobile Trade Complex

With a lengthened economic slump, thrifty consumers are increasing in number who choose wise consumption. They search the Internet for information or bother to visit the actual market to purchase a product of reliable quality at a more inexpensive price. Secondhand car market is the place where such a pattern change in consumption is intertwined with briskness. But it is the fact that however clever a consumer might be, it is not easy to select a good product of automobile,  which requires expertise.

Differentiation with customer-oriented system
Together with a booming used car market, ‘cheating’ is rising up as a serious social problem. After seducing customers with a bait product, they get a totally different product to be purchased or sell cars by manipulating the odometer or an accident vehicle by cheating, which acts as an element for customers to gradually turn their back on used car dealings. Despite the government’s effort to eradicate damage from trickery, cases of fraudulent dealings are on the increase and what matters most is the consumer’s eye to choose ‘a reliable company.’  ‘Cheonchamancha Auto Trade Complex’ makes difference in this regard and has long drawn attention from consumers who want to find a reliable company. This auto trade complex (hereunder Cheonchamancha) located at Euichang-gu, Changwon city, Gyungnam is the biggest auto transaction complex in Yeongnam area with a total site of over 5,000 Pyeong.

President Park Jong-dae explained, “Currently, Cheonchamancha has 41 firms and 6 partners. A total of 430 people, including 380 active dealers, are leading Cheonchamancha. Our strength is that with a large manpower, we can provide detailed and differentiated service to customers who are visiting us. From the entrance to the innermost, vehicles are exhibited in the order of large, medium, small cars, trucks and freight cars, whose structure gives visiting customers an advantage of finding the type of a car they want easily without need to wander about. President Park said, “This system of putting vehicles by type of cars and by name from A to Z is impossible without securing the area of land or vehicle holdings. We proudly believe that such a structure excelling an auto department store is one of the reasons why Cheonchamancha shows lots of units sold and good performance results.”

A reliable auto trade complex with thorough after-sale service
Cheonchamancha has been loved for over 16 years by customers largely because of a thorough service mindset of putting customers first all the time. While buying an ordinary used car there is no specific provisions for after-sale service and even the government advises limited after-sale service only when within a month there is abnormality with engine or transmission part, Cheonchamancha is also carrying out after-sale service for abnormality with other parts than engine and transmission for the customers’ safety and convenience. Such efforts of paying back the confidence of customers who have trusted and purchased from the company is also the prime mover to lead to repurchase later along with customer satisfaction.

President Park declared, “It was in November 2013 that we completed purchasing the land we had been taking a lease on a deposit basis. It was the result of longtime struggle and hardship of representatives from each firm operating with a common share. That is why all concerned have more attachment to and passion about Cheonchamancha. We are all collecting energies to make an auto trade complex to which customers will return anytime with confidence without causing any damage to Cheonchamancha’s image of putting customers first.”

Impression on the hearts of customers
For the past thirty years since entering into auto sale business, president Park has invariably adhered to the principle “The customer is always right.” It means that the principle to be kept in mind by car dealers is to be always kind to customers and provide exact information and knowledge to them. He emphasized, “These days, cars are not just a means to movement but has settled as part of our daily life. We should remember that customers and their family use a car for the purpose of their lives, safety and convenience in life. Selling a car is not an end but we need to take care so that a customer and a car may be together for a long time until the car is out of service after losing its life.” He is stressing such a hard and fast rule to all the staff. He thinks that the motive to make his first customer 30 years ago come back to him is the confidence and satisfaction coming from this kind of principle.

President Park is also serving as the vice president of Gyungnam Secondhand-Car Sale Cooperative and of Gyungnam Soccer Association. He engages in these activities because he thinks there is no development in an enterprise without development of the local community. President Park said, “Maybe there is no one who is not hungry for money. However, if we are attached to money, it distances customers away and messes up our attitude toward customers. If we treat all people like my family, the customer’s heart never fails to be touched.” In addition, he said he would improve the narrow parking lot of Cheonchamancha to provide more convenience for the staff and customers who use this. President Park Jong-dae is always making endeavors to present the best product to customers in a straightforward and honest attitude. Customer satisfaction sought for by him and Cheonchamancha is bringing a healthy trend in Korea’s secondhand car trade markets.
