“작은 것들, 잃어버린 것들에 대한 찬사"
“외면당한 것들, 잃어버린 것들, 그리고 사라진 것들에 대한 헌사”

작가 권성운은 그의 꿈과 희망들이 어떤 면에서 비현실적이듯, 그는 비현실적이고 감지할 수 없는 공간과 개념들, 존재하지 않기에 비현실적이고 감지할 수 없는 것이 아니라 인간의 감각의 한계로 인하여 비현실적이고 감지할 수 없게 된 공간과 개념들을 보여준다.
어떤 이들은 작가의 사진, 회화 설치들이 일부 선택 받은 사람들만을 위한 것이라고 할 수도 있다. 즉, 타인이 감지할 수 없는 세계를 감지하는 능력을 가진 사람들, 혹은 작가의 삶과 작품들을 오랜 시간 동안 보아오면서 그의 작업을 꿰뚫는 하나의 주제를 이해할 수 있는 사람들만을 위한 작품들이라고 생각할 수도 있을 것이다. 

늘 그래왔듯이, 작가의 이번 작품들 역시 외면당한 것들, 잃어버린 것들, 그리고 사라진 것들에 대한 헌사이다. 이것은 소외되고 버려진 것들이 만들어내는 또 하나의 찬가이다.
끊임없이 창조되어온 작가의 다른 찬가들과 마찬가지로 이번 작품에서도 작가는 소외되고, 버려지고, 외면당한 수많은 생각과 언어와, 개념과 이미지와 꿈들에 따뜻한 시선을 보낸다. 자칫 상처받고 비뚫어졌을 지도모르는, 자신의 의지와 상관없이, 왜곡된 존재들을 넓은 가슴으로 따뜻하게 감싸 안는다.

작가의 공간 속으로 초대된 잃어버린 꿈과 목소리를 작가와 함께 보듬기 위해서 많은 것이 필요하지는 않다. 그저 작가와 같은 따뜻한 시선을 다시 한 번 던져주면 된다. 
그렇게 던져준 따뜻한 시선과 함께 당신도 작가의 작품들을 만끽할 수 있는 선택 받은 소수가 될 수 있을 것이다.

Praise for small things and things we lost
Dedication to those ignored and things disappeared
Artist  Kweon, Seong-Woon expresses unrealistic and imperceptible conceptions and spaces cased by the limitation of human senses like his dreams and hopes are as such in a way. 

Some people might say that Kweon's photographs and paintings are for a few of those who are chosen to appreciate his works. Because those people can sense and understand Kweon's art world or they are the ones who have known about Kweon for a long time. 

As usual, Gwon's works this time are his devotion to small things and things we lost or things ignored. It is a praise made from those things. 

Through these works, Kweon shows his affection to many thoughts, languages, conceptions, images and dreams which were all ignored. Kweon warmly embraces those wounded and twisted against their will. 

We do not need many things to appreciate Kweon's works. We just need to give a part of our warm heart to the works like Kweon does. By doing that, you might be one of those chosen ones.
