스마트 기기와 연동해 운동하는 ‘스마트 바이크’
이제 운동 매니저앱 ZOM으로 건강을 지키자

경제가 성장하면서 자연스럽게 많은 분야에서 놀라운 기술들이 탄생하고 있다. 몇 년전만해도 핸드폰으로 인터넷과 결제, 업무 등을 처리한다는 것은 상상도 못할 일이었다. 하지만 현재 스마트폰은 손안에 컴퓨터라는 말이 붙을 정도로 다양한 일들을 처리할 수 있고 다양한 콘텐츠들의 개발로 이미 우리 삶에서 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 제품으로 인식되고 있다. 월간 파워코리아는 최근 스마트 기기 연동을 통한 기능성 App 활용의 운동 자전거 시스템인 Z-BIKE를 선보이며 단순한 운동이 아닌 내 몸에 맞는 운동법과 운동량, 게임을 즐기며 운동할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 스포테인먼트를 선보인 (주)지오아이티를 찾아 스마트 바이크와 운동 매니저앱인 ZOM(ZO Fitness Manager App)의 무한한 가능성을 들어보았다. 

차별화 된 시스템과 기술력으로 도전하다
(주)지오아이티는 H/W 기반의 스포테인먼트 콘텐츠 개발 노하우를 바탕으로 IT융합의 미래 지향적 기술 개발에 힘쓰고 있는 기업이다. 2007년에 설립돼 스크린 골프, 스크린 승마  등의 시스템을 구축해 이미 소프트웨어 제조는 물론 고객들이 상상하는 아이디어를 제품으로 시연시키는 등 다양한 개발경험으로 좋은 인식을 주고 있다. 또한 (주)지오아이티와 이성한 대표는 Web solution, Arcade contents, Mobil App, DID solution, Horse riding simulation, Screen Golf, 4D Bike simulation, Fitness system 등의 사업영역을 바탕으로 다양한 노하우를 보여주고 있는 기업으로도 주목받고 있다. 이렇게 IT융합 분야에서 인정받고 있는 이들이 최근 선보인 것이 바로 스마트 기기와 연동시켜 사용하는 Z-Bike다. 스마트 기기와 상호작용하는 진화된 피트니스 시스템인 Z-Bike는 가정용 운동기구 시장은 물론 피트니스센터, 비만클리닉 등의 분야에서 큰 호응을 불러일으킬 준비를 하고 있다. 이전에 소프트웨어를 중심으로 활동을 해온 이성한 대표는 2008년 베이징 올림픽 시범 종목으로 채택된 익스트림 스포츠 BMX를 보고 험악한 곳을 타보는 것은 쉽지 않다는 생각에 실내자전거를 실제 산악에서 즐길 수 있는 방법을 연구하게 되었고 실내 운동기구이지만 콘텐츠와 자전거의 기술력을 통해 실제 오르막을 오르거나 비탈길을 내려갈 때와 같은 효과를 구현시키는데 성공하며 다양한 특허를 보유하고 있다. 

스마트 기기를 이용해 간편히 진단받고 운동하자 
우선 스마트 자전거는 Function Botton, Pulse(심박) 센서, Bluetooth 통신모듈, Gyro 센서, Smart Device 거치, 자유 모션 핸들, 자동 (페달)부하 조절, 전/후진 감지 및 속도측정을 탑재하고 있어 복잡한 케이블 없이 단순한 터치만으로 블루투스를 연결시켜 사용하는 것은 물론 전자석 부하조절 장치로 페달 강도 역시 제어할 수 있다. 사실 여기까지의 기능들을 보면 단순한 실내 자전거로 생각할 수 있지만 탑재하고 있는 기능들을 자세히 살펴보면 전혀 다른 자전거라는 것을 알 수 있다. 가장 돋보이는 것은 바로 ZOM의 활용이다. Z-Bike 활용을 위한 기본 App인 ZOM은 전문가들과 교수진들의 참여로 구성된 운동 프로그램 및 맞춤형 트레이닝을 바탕으로 사용자 운동능력 측정에 따른 운동 강도와 스케줄 생성 및 관리를 도와주고 회원가입을 통해 운동 이력관리 및 회원간 랭킹 서비스도 제공하고 있다. “사실 운동은 관리해주는 선생이 있어야 더 효과가 극대화됩니다. 그래서 개인 레슨을 하는 시대로 변화되고 있죠. 이런 부분을 바로 ZOM이 해결해 준다고 생각해요. ZOM은 자율 운동을 포함해 10가지 자전거 운동 프로그램으로 매일 운동량과 방법 등을 체크하고 알려줍니다. 마치 누군가가 지켜보는 것처럼 말이죠. 그렇기에 운동 의지와 운동 효과가 상승할 수 밖에 없죠.” 이 밖에도 Z-Bike가 더욱 주목받는 이유는 바로 다양한 앱들과의 연계이다. 기존 실내 자전거에 모니터가 달려 다양한 운동은 물론 프로그램을 탑재한 제품들도 많았다. 하지만 내장되어 있는 시스템으로는 빠르게 변화되는 시스템에 맞출 수 없기에 이성한 대표가 생각해 낸 부분이 바로 매일 사용하는 스마트 기기와의 연동이었다. ZOM이 그 대표적 프로그램이고 모바일 앱의 게임들을 개발해 스마트 자전거와 연동하고 직접 페달을 밟으며 게임을 즐기는 내내 운동을 할 수 있어 성인은 물론 아이들에게 큰 효과를 기대하고 있다. “아이들이 게임을 하지 않을 수는 없어요. 그래서 저희 제품을 이용해 게임도 하고 운동도 하는 것이죠. 페달을 밟지 않으면 게임을 할 수 없으니 말입니다.” 게임 시 Z-Bike는 핸들의 자유로운 움직임을 통해 방향을 제어하고 점프하는 등 자이로 센서의 기능과 함께 다양한 앱들을 경험 할 수 있다.   

건강 지킴이 ZOM의 무한한 가능성
사실 이성한 대표가 추구하는 것은 단순한 Z-Bike의 판매가 아니다. 스마트 바이크를 시작으로 스텝퍼, 런닝머신과 같은 운동기구와의 융합을 시도해 가상 트레이너의 기능을 향상시켜 일상생활의 신체활동과 기구를 통한 운동을 통합 서비스해 전세계 운동기구의 15% 점유를 목표로 움직이고 있다. 기계를 판다는 것이 아닌 운동기구를 사용하는 15%의 인구가 ZOM 매니저로 관리를 받는다는 것을 의미한다. 그런 수준이 되면 언젠가 ZOM을 이용해 운동은 물론, 병원을 가지 않고 셀프 케어 할 수 있는 시대를 만들 수도 있을 것이다. 현재 60일 간의 체험단을 운영해 최종적인 데이터를 얻고 본격적인 보급을 준비하고 있다. 해외 판매는 중국 총판으로 중국 현지에서 판매할 예정이며 세계적인 총판을 구축해 국내와 세계 시장을 섭렵할 계획을 세우고 있다.

The challenge with differentiated systems and technologies
ZOIT is a company that develops futuristic IT technologies with its know-how in H/W based sportainment contents. Established in 2007, it built screen golf and horse-riding systems and produced softwares. The company is famous for actualizing people's imaginations into products. Its business areas include Web solution, Arcade contents, Mobil App, DID solution, Horse riding simulation, Screen Golf, 4D Bike simulation and Fitness system and it is well recognized in the industry. Lee recently developed an advanced fitness system called 'Z-Bike' which can be connected with smart device. Z-Bike is expected to create a sensation in the fields of exercise equipment, fitness and obesity clinic. Lee used to work in the software industry. On the occasion of seeing an extreme sport 'BMX' at 2008 Beijing Olympics, he wanted to make a program for people to enjoy the extreme sport indoors. He then launched related R&D and eventually developed simulation programs that can provide real mountainous environment on the screen. Lee currently obtains various patents. 

Let's enjoy sports with smart device
Smart bicycles are loaded with Function Bottom, Pulse Censer, Bluetooth, Communication Module, Gyro Censer, Smart Device Holder, Free Motion Handle, Auto Pedal Load Control, Front & Rear Censer and Speed Censer. You can control the bike by a simple touch without tangly cables. But Z-Bike is loaded with more of various other functions and ZOM among them is most conspicuous and is the very basic app to control Z-Bike. Based on exercise programs and customized training created by industry specialists and professors, ZOM is a program that manages a person's exercise ability and its intensity & schedule and also exercise history and ranking services when registered as a member. Lee says "the effect of exercise is maximized with the help of a trainer and ZOM is functioning as the trainer. ZOM checks and lets you know daily exercise amount and methods through 10 bike exercise programs including automatic movement as if somebody is watching you right next to you. For this reason, ZOM can encourage your motivation and effectiveness." Another advantage of ZOM is that it can be connected to other smart device. If existing products have the smart programs in the product, ZOM connects the bike straight to mobil apps which enables you to enjoy the riding while playing a game. Lee says "children love to play the games. What is interesting is that if they don't work the pedal, they cannot play the games. It means they can do exercise while playing the game."

Infinite possibilities of ZOM
Starting with Z-Bike, Lee is trying to combine it with Stepper and Running Machine to improve the functions of virtual trainer. Lee's goal is to take 15% of the exercise equipment market in the world. It does not mean that Lee sells exercise equipments but 15% of people are managed by ZOM as their personal trainer. It is expected that the idea of ZOM can enables us to take care of ourselves without going to a hospital one day. Meanwhile, Lee has run an experience team for 6  days and is preparing to distribute the product based on the data he acquired. Lee plans to attack the Chinese market first and then expand it to the global market thereafter.
