새로운 한류를 열어가는 2015 서울 국제뷰티아티스트 엑스포
정의화 국회의장 "한류의 첨병 IBEAC엑스포 발전 기대해"

뛰어난 고용창출 효과와 고부가가치를 가지고 있는 국가 신성장 동력 산업 중 첫 손으로 꼽히고 있는 뷰티산업은 해외에서 가요와 드라마의 인기를 업고 새로운 한류로 떠오르고 있다. 한국의 화장품이 가격은 저렴하면서 품질은 유럽의 어떤 제품과 비교해도 손색이 없을 정도로 품질이 좋다는 소문이 돌면서 아시아 지역에 한국 화장품 열풍이 불었다. 한국 연예인들을 보면서 그들의 화장법, 패션, 헤어스타일이 각광을 받았다. 그리고 지금 한류의 최전선에 뷰티 산업이 있다.

전 세계의 미용인들 함께 어우러지는 대축제 IBEAC
2015 서울 국제뷰티아티스트 엑스포(2015 Seoul International Beauty Expo of Art and Culture, 이하 IBEAC)가 지난 11일 서울 강서구에 위치한 KBS 스포츠 월드 체육관에서 성대하게 치러졌다. 특히 이번 대회에서는 중국, 일본, 필리핀, 몽골, 태국, 베트남, 말레이시아 등 아시아 전역의 선수들이 참가해 명실 공히 대한민국을 대표하는 대회로 자리 잡았다. 이번 행사는 ‘한류의 중심으로 된 미용문화, 한국미용의 세계화’라는 구호를 바탕으로 (사)한국의료관광호텔협회와 (사)국제미용가연합회가 공동주최했으며, 특히 문화와 예술, 관광의 융복합으로 나아가기 위한 발전 방향을 모색하는 미용인들의 대축제가 되었다.

(사)국제미용가연합회의 성기하 이사장은 "우수한 인재발굴과 육성은 지속가능한 성장을 위한 필수조건이다. 국제미용가연합회의 역사가 뷰티디자인업계를 대표할 수 있도록 혼신의 힘을 다하겠다"고 이야기했으며, 정의화 국회의장도 참석해 "중국과 대만 등 아시아 지역에서 한류의 첨병 역할을 다할 수 있는 IBEAC엑스포의 발전을 기대한다"는 축사를 남겼다. 이 날 행사장에는 정의화 국회의장을 비롯해 이인제 새누리당 최고의원, 정관영 의원, 문병호 의원, 이한성 의원, 김성곤 의원 등이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

또한 (주)해피소닉 정무열 대표와 (주)스틸랜드 주상민 대표가 이번 IBEAC엑스포의 대회장 자격으로 행사장에 참석해 "국제무대에서의 기량 향상으로 대한민국의 국제적 위상을 높일 수 있는 기회가 되기 바란다"는 말을 전했다. 주상민 대표는 장학금 전달식에서 미용을 배우고 있는 학생들을 위해 마련한 장학금 500만 원을 기부하기도 했다.

미용인 콘테스트와 진로상담 등 다양한 프로그램 주목
우리나라와 미국, 중국, 일본, 러시아 등 12개국에서 국내 대회관계자 및 선수 3,500여명이 참석하는 대규모 국제 뷰티행사인 IBEAC엑스포는 헤어, 피부, 건강테라피, 메이크업, 반영구화장, 네일아트와 스킨아트쇼 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 꾸며졌다. 또한 '미용 한류'의 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련된 특별 학술회의 프로그램으로 김근종 한국의료관광학회장이 ‘의료관광의 활성화 방안, 미용과 의료관광의 융복합방안’이라는 주제로 뷰티 의료관광 심포지엄을 가졌으며 디플로마 수여식도 함께 진행되었다.

오후 순서로는 양가위 부대회장의 마술쇼와 산학협력위원회 박종기 위원장의 업스타일 쇼가 행사장의 열기를 한층 뜨겁게 했으며 이어지는 부문별 시상식과 종합시상식에서 콘테스트에 참여한 전체 3,000여 명 중 눈부신 성과를 낸 참가자에게 수상의 영광이 돌아갔다. 한편 이번 IBEAC엑스포에서는 뷰티 관련 학과의 진로 상담을 위한 교육관, 작품 전시관, 취업 상담관을 운영하여 뷰티관련 진학을 꿈꾸는 학생들의 관심을 모으기도 했다.

최근 미용 산업이 다시금 주목받고 있는 것은 인간의 보편적인 욕망인 아름다움에 대한 추구 때문이다. (사)국제미용가협회는 아시아를 비롯한 세계 각지에서 주목받고 있는 국내 미용인들의 기술혁신과 글로벌화를 도울 뿐 아니라 국내 미용인 교류의 장으로서의 역할을 충실히 수행하고 있다. 지난 달 펼쳐진 2015 IBEAC엑스포 역시 미용기술에서 항상 최고를 추구하며 혁신을 멈추지 않고자 하는 수많은 국내외 미용인들의 땀방울을 느낄 수 있는 소중한 자리가 되었다.

World beauticians, gathering together at IBEAC

IBEAC (2015 Seoul International Beauty Expo of Art and Culture) was successfully held on 11 last month at KBS Sports World Gymnasium. The event was participated by many countries including China, Japan, the Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. Under the slogan of 'Globalization of Korean Beauty', the event was co-held by Korea Medical Tourism Hotel Association and International Beautician's Association and they suggested ways to converge culture, art and tourism. The Chairman of International Beautician's Association Kiha Sung said "fostering talented people is a must for sustainable growth of the industry and we will take the initiative." The Chairman of the National Assembly Uihwa Chung said "I hope that IBEAC will be the spearhead of spreading Korean Wave in Aisa." The event was participated by Chung and several other lawmakers including  Inje Lee, Gwanyoung Jeong, Byeongho Mun, Hansung Lee and Sunggon Kim. The CEO of Happy Sonic Muyeol Jeong and the CEO of Steel Land Sangmin Ju also participated as the presidents of the event and said "we hope that the event will be a momentum to raise Korea's global status." Ju also awarded a scholarship of $5,000 to the students who want to be beauticians. 

Introducing a variety of programs including beauty contest and career path consultation
IBEAC attracted 3,500 people from the world and provided various programs relating to hair, skin, health therapy, make-up, semi-permanent make-up, nail art and skin art. As part of the event, the Head of the Academy of Korea Medical & Tourism Geunjeong Kim held a symposium under the subject of 'Activation Plan for Medical Tourism and Convergence Plan of Beauty and Medical Tourism' and granted diploma to students at the graduation ceremony held as part of the event. The vice president of the event Kaiui Yang's magic show and the Chairman of Industry-Academy Cooperation Jeongki Kim's up-style show were staged in order to brighten up the mood of the event and total award ceremony was also held according to each sector. IBEAC this year provided career path consultation for students through training hall, exhibition hall and consultation hall. The reason beauty industry is in the spotlight is because people desire to be beautiful. Meanwhile, the International Beautician's Association is actively carrying out its role to promote globalization of the domestic beauty industry and technical innovation as well as global exchanges. In addition, 2015 IBEAC provided an opportunity for participants to show their skills and to share information.
