김재홍 KOTRA사장, 지방 수출중기 애로해소 위해 현장방문
-중기청 등 유관기관과 협력해 고객사들의 애로해소에 적극 나설 것-
 김재홍 KOTRA 사장은 취임 후 바로 지방 중소기업들의 수출 관련 애로사항을 듣기 위해 산업현장부터 찾았다. KOTRA는 지난달 27일 대구 인터불고엑스코 호텔에서 열악한 기업 환경에 있는 지방 중소기업의 애로사항을 청취하고 이들 기업에 대한 지원 방안을 모색하기 위해 ‘지방 중소기업 수출애로 간담회’를 개최했다.

간담회는 △지방기업의 수출 애로사항 청취 △2015년 KOTRA 주요 사업 소개 △한-중 FTA 활용 방안 관련 특별 강연 등으로 구성됐다. 이날 간담회에서는 지방 기업들의 주된 애로사항으로 해외시장정보가 부족해 바이어 발굴이 어려운 점 등이 언급됐다. 또한 일부 기업 관계자는 어렵게 수출상담회에 참가할 기회가 주어져도 바이어 매칭이 기대만큼 잘 되지 않는 점이 아쉽다고 토로했다. 특히 바이어들의 니즈를 세밀히 파악해 바이어 매칭에 활용하거나 사전에 바이어 정보를 자세히 제공하는 등 수출상담회의 질을 높여 달라는 요구가 많았다.

이에 김재홍 KOTRA 사장은 “수출 관련 애로사항이 발생하면 언제든 대경권 KOTRA지원단의 사무실을 방문해달라”며, “지원단에서 해결이 안 되면 본사나 해외무역관, 중기청 등의 유관기관을 연결해 고객사들의 애로해소에 적극 나설 것이며, 정성을 다해 수출상담회, 해외시장조사 등 서비스 품질을 높여갈 것”이라고 답했다.

현재 KOTRA는 지방 중소기업의 해외시장 개척을 지원하기 위해 대경권(대구), 동남권(부산), 호남권(광주) 등 5개 지역에 지원단을 운영하고 있으며, 내수기업 수출기업화, 지방 무역사절단, 수출상담회, 시장설명회 등 다양한 사업을 활용해 기초 수출컨설팅, 바이어 발굴, 사후관리까지 전방위적 지원 체제를 수립해 운영하고 있다. 특히 올해는 전국의 2,400개 내수기업을 수출기업으로 육성하고자 산업부, 중기청 등 정부부처 및 유관기관과 협업해 수출마케팅을 종합적으로 지원하기 위한 프로젝트를 추진하고 있다.

대표적으로 이동코트라 사업을 통해 연간 2,000개사가 넘는 지방 중소기업을 직접 찾아다니며 맞춤형 현장컨설팅을 지원하고 있다. 지방 기업들은 여건상 수도권 중심으로 이루어지는 각종 설명회, 상담회, 컨설팅에 직접 참가하기 어렵고 유선 및 인터넷을 통한 서비스 이용에는 한계가 있기 때문에 ‘직접 찾아가는’ 맞춤형 서비스인 이동코트라는 지방기업들의 큰 호응을 얻고 있다. 한편 간담회에 앞서 김재홍 KOTRA 사장은 대구시가 전국 최초로 주최하는 ‘2015 기업애로해결박람회’에 참석해 권영진 대구시장과 면담을 가지고, KOTRA와 대구시가 공동으로 추진하는 협력 사업에 대한 확대방안과 대구창조경제혁신센터 지원방안에 대해 논의했다. 김재홍 KOTRA 사장은 “2020년까지 무역 2조 달러를 달성하기 위해서는 내수기업의 수출기업화를 통해 수출중소기업 수를 10만개 까지 끌어올려야 한다”며, “제조업 중심의 무역에서 탈피해 문화콘텐츠 및 의료 등 새로운 수출 먹거리를 창출하고, FTA 체결지역으로의 진출을 적극 지원하는 한편, 기존의 수출지원 서비스 방식을 공급자 중심에서 수요자 맞춤형으로, 단편적.일회성 지원에서 패키지형·지속적 지원으로 전환해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Jaehong Kim, the CEO of KOTRA visited the field to promote export of the local small & medium business right after his inauguration. KOTRA held 'Meeting for Local Small & Medium Business's Difficulty in Export' on 29 last month at Hotel Inter-Burgo Exco in Daegu City to find ways to support them. The meeting was consisted of 'Listening to Local Small & Medium Business's Difficulty to Export', 'Main Projects of KOTRA 2015', and 'Application Plan of Korea-China FTA. It was pointed out in the meeting that lack of related information makes the local business difficult to export their products.

Some officials said that even if they participate in an export conference, they are not connected to buyers as a result and they need the information about the buyers so that they can prepare beforehand. Kim answered that "if you have any difficulty regarding export, please visit to the local support group office of KOTRA. If it is still not solved at that level we will bring the matter to our headquarters or KOTRA Overseas Trade Center or Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA). Meanwhile, we will keep improving our foreign market research and service quality."

Currently, KOTRA is running a support group in 5 regions, including Daeju, Busan and Gwangju, and a total directional support system to provide services covering from export consulting, inviting buyers, and post management through various projects including export conference and market briefing. They are also carrying out projects to support the export marketing comprehensively in order to promote 2,400 domestic enterprises to grow into export companies in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, SMBA and the related organizations. They are supporting the customized field consulting by visiting more than 2,000 local small & medium businesses through Mobile KOTRA Project as the local companies have difficulties in participating in various conferences centered in the capital area and also have limitations to use services online.

Before the meeting, Kim participate in '2015 Enterprise Problem Solving Expo', hosted by Daegu City for the first time in Korea, and discussed with the mayor about expanding the KOTRA and Daegu City cooperation project and a support plan for Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center. Kim said "we have to create 10,000 export small & medium companies to achieve $2b worth trade by 2020. We will try to break from manufacturing centered trade but to create cultural contents, medicine and food centered trade. We will actively support for Korean companies to enter the countries which have a FTA with us, turn the existing export support services to customized services, and fragmentary and one off services to packaged and sustainable style services."
