특별한 날 가장 빛나는 당신을 위한 선택 ‘에오스’

최근에 전 세계적으로 협동조합의 움직임이 심상치 않다. 경제활동의 목적이 조합의 이윤추구에 있지 않고 조합원에게 있다는 점에서 주식회사와 구별돼 있으며 이윤을 지향하는 사기업에 대비해 공익지향의 협동조합기업이 더욱 활발한 활동을 벌일 필요를 느끼는 이 시대에, 최근 드레스 디자이너로 오래도록 자리매김한 "에오스'의 김정민 대표가 작년10월에 협동조합을 통해 교복브랜드"어글리덕"을 런칭하게 되었다.          

드레스에서 소품까지 모두 디자이너 작품

에오스의"김정민"대표는 홍대미대를 졸업하고 복장학원, 김상스타일 등에서 사사 한 후 오랫동안 패션디자이너로 활약해 왔다. 어려서부터 어머니의 재능을 물려받아 남다른 재능이 있었던 그는 미대출신 패션디자이너로 일을 했지만 나름 의상전공자들과의 보이지 않는 경쟁을 했기 때문에 곱지 않은 시선들이 있었다. 하지만 특유의 성실성과 재능을 장점으로 잘살려 의류 전반적인 흐름의 모든 부분을 담당할 수 있었다. 

“결혼 후 우연찮게 잡지에서 웨딩드레스를 만드는 사람을 보게 되었는데 이거다 싶었어요. 무작정 그 사람에게 연락해 돈을 받지 않고 배우겠다며 조르고 졸라 웨딩드레스와 첫 인연을 맺게 되었건 거죠.” 

그 후 후배의 결혼식 드레스를 오더 받고 회사입사 두 달만에 독립해서 드레스샵을 오픈하게 되었다. 그 후 3년 만에 샵이 성장해 이전하게 되었었고 거리상 너무 먼 사업장과 육아의 어려움을 고려해 자녀를 위해 잠시 휴식하며 새로운 일터를 찾았다.

2000년도에 다시재기를 꿈꾸던 중 우연히 분당에 위치한 계원예고 앞에서 다시 샵을 오픈하게 된다. 당시 예고학생들이 필요로 한 향상복을 디자인해 학교에 제안했으며, 매년 학생들의 단복을 만들게 되며 새롭게 드레스의 전반적인 모든 분야를 공급, 단시간 내에 입소문을 타면서 학예발표회와 운동회 각종 음악 발표회 등의 드레스를 대여하면서 분당에 입지를 굳혔다. 그 후 백화점에 브랜드를 내서 입점하게 되었고, 전국적으로 체인점화 시키는 마케팅도 펼쳐 나아가게 된 것이다. 

그 노하우를 바탕으로 올해 분당에 에오스드레스를 재 오픈한 김정민 대표는 웨딩부터 드레스에 필요한 전반적인 모든 품목과 웨딩에 필요한 스드메도 준비해 올가을부터 본격적인 또 하나의 웨딩플레너 업체로써 활동 할 것이라는 포부를 전했다. 

협동조합 교복브랜드 ‘어글리 덕’ 론칭

김정민 대표는 지난 10월 중소기업청의 지원과 조합원의 공동투자를 통해 법인회사인 교복브랜드 ‘어글리덕’을 런칭했고, 성남시청 내 온누리홀에서 지난10월, 약70여벌의 교복과 체육복단복, 원복을 디자인과 마케팅의 전반적인 모든 부분을 준비해 선보였다. 현재 여러 학교의 입찰상담을 조심스럽게 진행해 나가고 있으며, 현재는 대량생산을 위해 법인을 설립하고 공장을 선정하는 등 브랜드 창업 막바지 작업이 한창이다. 드레스 디자이너에서 교복 디자이너로 변신을 예고하고 있지만, 어린이 합창단 단복과 계원예교의 교복을 제작한 경험이 있어 별다른 어려움은 없어 보인다. 특히, 노인층과 다문화 가정을 대상으로 재능기부에 앞장 서 온 그녀이기에 그 누구보다도 협동조합이 나아가야 할 방향성에 대해 잘 알고 있다. “그동안 교복의 대한 기업들의 횡포가 많았던 게 사실이잖아요. 하지만 앞으로는 ‘어글리 덕’이 건강한 교복 문화를 선도하며 교복 시장의 새바람을 불어넣을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다.” 이를 위해 김 대표는 올 초 판교에 위치한 학교에서 멘토링 강의를 하기도 하고, 패션쇼를 열기도 했다. 

‘어글리 덕’이 착한 교복을 지향하지만 김 대표는 품질과 디자인만큼은 양보할 수가 없음을 강조한다. 그녀는 요즘 청소년들의 트렌드를 반영해 무한한 백조의 가능성을 가진 ‘미운 오리새끼’ 같은 우리 아이들을 위한 차별화된 교복을 만들어나갈 방침이다. “교복 매장을 화사하게 탈바꿈시켜 아이들이 편히 쉴 수 있는 공간을 마련해 주고 싶어요. 중장기적으로는 전국 체인화를 구상 중에 있습니다.” 하나님이 이 길을 허락한 것에는 반드시 그 이유가 있을 것이라고 말하는 김정민 대표. 그녀가 그리스 신화에 나오는 새벽의 여신 ‘에오스’처럼 이 시대를 더욱 눈부시게 밝혀주기를 소망해 본다.

  The steps of cooperative association is uncommon. In the way that the purpose of economic activity is not the pursuit of cooperative association's profits but is for 

members of an association, it is distinguished from the public limited company, and in this era when we need to feel more active of public-oriented cooperative association in preparation for profit-oriented private sector, representative Kim Jeong-min of 'Eos' who recently established herself for a long time as a dress designer launched Uniform brand "Ugly Duck" in October last year through a cooperative association.

From dress to accessories all designer's work

  Representative 'Kim Jeong-min' of 'Eos Dress' graduated from art college of Hongik University, studied in Fashion Academy, Kim Sang style, and has been working as a fashion designer for a long time. She had an extraordinary talent as she inherited from her mother's ability in her early age, and worked as a Fashion Designer. As she be in invisible competition with clothes majors,  people around her are critical of her. But she made use of the advantages of her unique integrity  and talent could be responsible for all the parts of the overall flow of clothing. "After her marriage, she saw a person making wedding dress in the magazine, which was the right thing in my mind. I contacted the person recklessly and pressed again and again the person to work and study without salary, and I first entered into a relationship of the wedding dress." After that she got order of her junior for the wedding dress, she opened the dress shop in two months joining the company. After three years, the shop has been grown and the shop moved, in consideration of too far distance her work and the difficulties of raising a child, and so she found new work, taking a break. When she was dreaming of making a comeback in 2000 she opened the shop again before Kaywon High School of Arts located in Bundang. She design and proposed a weekly dress the students need to the school. She made the uniform of the students supplied all parts of the new dress. Within a short period of time on everyone’s tongue she solidified its position in Bundang as she loaned the dress for presentation of arts and sciences and various sports such as music presentation. After than she was part of the department store and propelled the marketing unfolding nationwide chain stores. Based on the know-how she opened again Eos dress in Bundang and revealed her strong ambitions that she will be active in fall as a another wedding planner company, preparing all items of a wedding and dress and make-up, wedding dress, and studio shooting necessary for wedding. 

Launched cooperative association uniform brand 'Ugly Duck'

   Representative Kim Jeong-min launched the uniform brand 'Ugly Duck', Corporation Ltd, through Small Business Administration's support and a joint venture

of members of copartners in last October, and she showed off 70 uniforms and  gym uniforms of all part of the overall design and marketing at Onnuri Hall in Seongnam City Hall in last October. She is proceeding cautiously the bidding  consultation of many schools, and final work of establishing brands is in full swing, establishing a legal entity, selecting plant etc for the mass production. It is foretelling that she is transformed into a uniform designer from a dress  designer, but she does not seem to have much difficulty as she had an experience to make  children's choir uniform and Kaywon High School of Arts' uniform. In particular, she has been leading talent donation for the elderly and multi-cultural families, she  was more familiar with the direction cooperative association has to go than any other person. "It it true that there has been much tyranny of the companies, but we 

'Ugly Duck' will do our best to blow into new wind in the uniform market,  leading a healthy uniform culture in the future." For this, representative Kim gave mentoring lectures opened the fashion show in the school located in Pan-gyo early this year. 'Ugly Duck' aims for a good uniform, but she plays an emphasis on the fact that she does not give up quality and design. She plans to make distinctive uniforms for the children like 'Ugly Duck' having the infinite possibilities of swans by reflecting the trend of the youth  "I would like to supply the space for  children to relax by transforming uniform stores gorgeously. With the medium to long term she is planning to make chain stores across the country." She says that there is surely the reason why the God permits this way for me. We hope she will light  this time more dazzlingly like Goddess of the dawn 'Eos' in greek mythology.
