KOTRA has rolled up sleeves to back up Korean drone companies by joining hands with an American drone company Ghost Robotics for product demonstration, technical tieup and production and export partnering. 28 Korean drone and defense companies and the Korea Research Institute for Defense Technology Planning and Advancement participated in the joining ceremony held at KOTRA headquarters in Yeomgokdong, Seoul on February 22. South Korea set sail a military drone unit in 2018 and has been accelerating drone-driven spy, armament and battle competency. An official said that KOTRA and Ghost Robotics were working on production base, facility investment and investment incentives at the moment.

KOTRA has succeeded 3 Korean liquor companies entering Endeavor Drinks, the biggest liquor distribution network in Australia. A total of 19 Korean liquors including makkoli (rice wine), soju (distilled) and bokbunja (raspberry wine) are to delight drinkers in Australia. Endeavour Group is the leading hospitality and liquor business in Australia. It runs 1,610 stores nationwide with 21,000 employees making yearly $6.6 billion sales. KOTRA expects more than $1 million yearly sales. Meanwhile, 14 Korean beauty companies in Amazon Australia have already harvested $87,000 sales since last December. KOTRA trade center Sydney division head Beongho Kim said that the opening the trade channels to Endeavour Drinks and Amazon this time was meaningful in terms of government backing up the deals. <PowerKorea>
