African Swine Fever is a great threat to many cattle farmers. As conventional methods no longer seem to work, they are desperately seeking solutions from smart farm technologies.
A South Korea company Farmpro is famous for introducing ‘earring tag’ in 2018. As the first case in South Korea, the earring tag is designed to detect estrus and diseases of cattle.
Farmpro was established in 2018. CEO Younghee Park has years of experience in running cattle farms and developed the innovative earring tag which passed a test carried out by the Korean Native Cattle Improvement Office. Park has applied for 3 patents, registered 1 trade mark and obtained certificates of excellent technology and of venture enterprise.
Farmpro, the earring tag, boasts ±0.1¡É precision and the detected information is transmitted to gateway through LoRa wireless communications and the data in the server is then analyzed to be sent to cattle farm owners who can check the results on their smart phones.
Farmking, another brainchild of Farmpro, is an artificial fertilizer that can also be controlled remotely. It enables a vet to precisely locate the sperm and to detect any abnormality of the womb.
In recognition of its achievement, Farmpro received a prize from the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency at the Innovation Winner 2019 hosted by the Herald Group and managed by monthly <PowerKorea>.
