eWBM is a tech company that developed FIDO last month. FIDO is a security semiconductor that can verify one’s ID without personal identification number but with fast identity online, thus FIDO. Recently, the company has obtained a membership of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association in the field of ID and access management.

“It is very encouraging that eWBM marked as the first South Korean company to be a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association which means that our technique has reached to a level of global standard” explains Stephen Oh, CEO of eWBM.

Microsoft expanded the PC-based Active Directory to cloud-based ID and access management service Azure Active Directory and upgraded the version to Hybrid Azure Active Directory. Also, it changed the security of Hybrid Azure Active Directory to the Fido2-based passwordless system. The eWBM’s Fido2 security key coincided with this change and has been included in the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association. eWBM is recognized as the world’s first to have obtained the Fido2 security level 2(L2) and its GoldenGate series is to release G310/G320 in addition to the existing G450/G500.

One month before eWBM obtained a membership of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association, the company released ‘Arduino Shield Board’, a serial to Ethernet local area network.

The new devices of eWBM embrace two form factors that are compatible with the entry development board ‘UNO’ and the IoT development board ‘MKR’that allows transmit the data after connecting the RS232C port device through UART. Also, if the PLC device, unconnectable to LAN, supports RS23C, the eWBM products make it possible to collect big data that goes to server through Ethernet without changing PLC. “Ethernet is vulnerable to hacking. So the eWBM’s MS500 makes it encrypted and supports https through TLS 1.2 for the users free from hacking fears” says Oh.

Meanwhile, eWBM started supplying FIDO2 L2 to International Systems Research Japan and announced last May to release CloudGate UNO Premium that controls and certifies ISR without using password at Single Sign On. The company predicts that more than 500,000 users will use ISR by 2021. In a word, CloudGate UNO Premium enables users to get into the desired information with Fast IDentity Online without password. CEO of ISR Mendez Raul said “Fingerprint alone can make our life much easier than using hasslely password which is hard to remember and irritates us. It is notable that around 81% of hacking is generated by hacking the password.” As for the moment, Oh is scheduled to join the Microsoft Ignite Conference held early November this year to promote the eWBM’s Fido2 security key ‘GoldenGate’ series to the industry officials and people with interest in the field.
