The 18th Sancheong Medicinal Herb Festival has harvested fruits in abundance. Around 265 million won herbs were sold with the local specialties around 232 million won during the festival.

The total of 111 strictly chosen companies and merchants pitched up the booths covering around 200 local herbs such as pine mushroom, angelica root, matrimony vine, white woodland peony, wilfordi root and wood-cultivated ginseng. The county also introduced its internet shopping mall www.sanencheong.com and organized tasting events. 

"The Sancheong Medicinal Herb Festival is a wellbeing festival and it gives you a variety of fun alongside the medicinal herbs. We hope you make an unforgettable memory at this wellbeing festival and raise the level of your health" said an official of the county

Promotion of medicinal herb commentators 
Sancheong County is promoting medicinal herb commentators who will also play their role as honorary ambassadors of the county. The training this year opened September 6 until 20. 40 Sancheong County medicinal herb commentators attended the closing ceremony. 

The training gives in-depth knowledge on medicinal herbs, patented Korean medicinal herbs, commentating skills, customer services, storytelling and the SNS-based marketing. The commentators have engaged in running a medicinal herb observing program for 350 students in 15 schools this year alongside the promoting the excellence of Korean medicinal herbs to the tourists visiting the county and Donguibogam village.

County Athletics Competition
Sancheong County held the 32nd Sancheong Athletics Competition on the last day of the Sancheong Medicinal Herb Festival at Sancheong Stadium. This every other year competition attracted 5,000 residents in 11 villages this year.

The opening ceremony included the 45th Jirisan Peace Awards and the volunteer prize went to the former Sancheong-gun Health Center and County Hospital director Moon Hyung-do, and the education & culture prize to the Dansung Confucian Temple elder Lee Wan-gyu. The athletes competed in 13 events including gate ball, tennis, football and the traditional Korean board game 'Yut Nori'.
