Spreading happiness with a small habit, smile and listening
13 years of passion in delivering happiness to people
Director Mun Eun-sik of Fourway Happiness Research Center
“Smile is basic for communication and habit for finding happiness”

CEO Mun of Fourway Happiness Research Center started to deliver happiness to people from 2003. He currently is running 12 projects under the title ‘Happy Parents’ with the support of the Ministry of Education. Mun’s talent in lecturing on positivity, communication, driving force and self-respect and the way he delivers them through interaction with audience is well known and praised. His ‘The happy ones change the world’, for example, is very popular among women, especially housewives, and ‘Mother Revolution’ aroused a wide sympathy with the story that a mother who finds happiness also makes her family happy. Another famous one ‘Father who dreams big’, delivers messages of promoting self-respect, inner strength and communication skills. Mun says “Experts say that a child’s emotion gets influenced by his mother’s side and sociability by father’s. Communication can function to balance the both elements but it needs a certain skill. I think giving ‘a smile’ to the child in the morning and evening is more effective as it can deliver parent’s warmth and love that cannot be expressed by any type of languages.” Mun continues “Happiness is not about something big and great. It comes from small things such as drinking a tea, doing an exercise and looking up the sky which I call ‘small things’. A small pleasure becomes a day, and the day becomes a month and the month the year. Then you will find happiness is already beside you.”

Delivering a scientific happiness theory
Mun’s happiness theory comes from his positive psychology. For this reason, he studies happiness scientifically and pursues spirituality and completion of life through in-depth experience. In order to do that, true communication is must needed. Mun says true happiness theory can be able to change people positively and act accordingly because happiness transcends ages, sex and occupation but everybody pursues it. Mun delivers this happiness theory by publishing books, appearing on TV and running ‘Original Sound’ on WBS. Mun says “Happiness theory can apply to everybody. Parents can read children’s mind and a boss at work can read his staff’s mind. A mentoring starts from reading one’s mind over forcing one’s opinion. Through this, one can understand and persuade others without hurting their heart.” Mun starts a day by giving thanks for 5 minutes in the morning and plans the rest of the day in which he finds value and pleasure of life from experience. Meanwhile, Mun is planning to hold happy talk concert for young people this year. He says “A concert delivers messages more effective than a lecture. A lecture show or standing comedy also might a good idea to draw active participation of audience.” Mun advises fellow lectures to throw away obsession with perfection but try to find what they are good at and be brave to stand on the stage to deliver their message to audience. Despite his busy schedules, Mun reads 10 to 15 books a month and organizes the contents of each lecture with which he plans to publish them in a book next year. <Power Korea> wishes Mun a continuous success.
