여성가족부, ‘2015년 전국다문화가족 네트워크대회 비전 선포
여성가족부(장관 김희정)는 지난 달 10일 서울지방조달청별관에서 ‘多문화 대한민국, 多같이 만들어가요’를 주제로 ‘2015년 전국다문화가족 네트워크대회’를 개최했다. 국내 다문화정책은 지난 2006년 ‘여성결혼이민자 가족의 사회통합 지원대책’ 마련을 시작으로, 이후「다문화가족지원법」제정(‘08.3월) 등 법․제도적 기반을 마련하고, 서비스 전달체계를 전국으로 확대하여 다문화가족의 정착단계와 생애주기에 따른 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

그 결과 다문화가족의 안정적인 결혼생활을 돕고, 결혼이민자의 경제활동참여 및 한국어능력 향상에 기여한 것으로 평가받고 있다. 김이선 한국여성정책연구원 연구위원은 다문화가족정책이 이민자들의 정착과정에서 심리적 안정과 사회관계망 확장 등 긍정적 효과를 미치고 있다고 평가하고, 일반시민의 다문화수용성 제고, 성장기 다문화자녀에 대한 정책적 관심이 필요하다고 지적했다. 선포식에서는 ‘다문화가족정책 향후 10년 비전’에 대한 표어 공모를 통해 선정된 ‘多문화 대한민국, 多같이 만들어가요’를 향후 10년 비전으로 선포했다. 

또한, 우리사회 다문화가족의 안정적인 사회정착과 사회통합을 위해 애써온 유공자 46명에 대한 포상이 이뤄졌다. 이날 행사는 이외에도 다문화가족 정책 관련 공감 톡톡 OX 퀴즈, 참여형 연극 공연, 다문화가족지원센터 우수사업 발표 및 시상 등 다채로운 프로그램이 진행되며, 아름드리 합창단, 비올리스트 안톤 강, 결혼이민자 난타동아리, 몽땅 등의 축하공연이 진행 되었다. 김희정 여성가족부 장관은 개회사에서 “다문화가족정책 10년의 역사는 정부, 학계, 다문화가족지원센터 종사자 분들을 포함해 수많은 현장 활동가 분들이 함께한 ‘헌신의 기록”이라고 평가하고, “제각각의 색깔과 모양을 지닌 천조각들이 모여 아름다운 한 편의 작품인 조각보가 완성되듯이, 다문화가족이 가져오는 다양성과 개방성이 우리 사회를 더욱 유연하고 강하게 만들 수 있도록 지난 10년 성과를 바탕으로 앞으로 새로운 10년을 함께 준비해 나가자“ 고 강조했다.

청년여성, 멘토는 ‘꿈을 묻고’ 멘티는 ‘길을 묻다’
여성가족부 김희정 장관은 지난 달 15일 은행회관에서 사회 각계 여성지도자 및 중간관리자 25명과 여대생 및 취업준비생 100여명이 함께하는 2015년 청년여성 멘토링 ‘멘토-멘티 만남의 날 행사’를 개최했다. 이번 행사는 진로, 취업상담 및 직장생활의 비법, 경력관리 방향 등의 면에서 실질적 도움을 줌으로써, 막연하게 미래를 꿈꾸는 청년여성들에게 구체적인 경력개발 방안을 지원하고자 마련됐다. 이날 행사는 여성가족부가 선정한 2015청년여성멘토링 대표멘토들이 참여하는 토크콘서트 ‘꿈을 묻다’가, 2부 ‘길을 묻다’에서는 금융·교육·일반기업·언론·공직 등 직업분야별 실무멘토들과 청년여성들 간 그룹상담이 진행되었다. 토크콘서트는 발레리나 김주원, ‘헤세로 가는 길’ 저자인 문학평론가 정여울, 메이크업 아티스트 정샘물, 신순철 신한은행 부행장보, 황지나 한국지엠 부사장 등 11명의 대표멘토가 참여했다. 이날 김희정 여성가족부 장관은 환영사에서 “나침반이 올바른 방향을 찾기 위해 수많은 떨림을 반복하듯이, 젊은 시절 삶의 방향을 찾기 위해 부단히 노력하는 것이 중요하다”며, “우리는 여성인재의 적극적인 활용이 국가경쟁력을 좌우하는 시대에 살고 있으며, 그 중심에 청년여성이 있다.”고 강조하고, “청년고용 절벽을 해소하기 위해 정부는 온 역량을 집중하고 있으며, 여성가족부도 청년여성들의 경력 개발과 고용 지원을 위해 최선을 다하겠다.“고 밝혔다. 

Kim announces visions of 2015 multi-cultural family network
Gender Equality and Family Minister Heejung Kim held 2015 Multi-cultural Family Network on 10 last month at the Public Procurement Service building under the slogan of 'Multi-cultural Korea, Let's make it together'. Korea's multi-cultural family policy started with 'Social Integrity Support for Married Female Immigrants' in 2006 followed by the legislation of 'Multi-cultural Family Support Act'. The government now is providing total services from immigration to settlement on the national level. Multi-cultural families are credited for contributing to the development of the Korean agricultural industry.

Researcher Isun Kim of Korean Women's Development Institute said that the policy has played a great role to give psychological stability for the immigrants and multi racial culture and Korean people’s continuous interest in accepting different people and culture need to be further encouraged. The ministry issued a public challenge for the slogan for the next 10 year vision of the policy and chose the chant 'Multi-cultural Korea, Let's make it together’. Kim also awarded various prizes for 46 people who contributed to promoting multi-culture and social integration in our society. The event also included a OX quiz, theater play, presentation of excellent cases of projects by Multi-cultural Family Support Center, performance of a choir, solo performance of violinist Anton Kang, married immigrants' drumming performance and congratulatory performance by Mongtang. Kim said "The history of Korea's Multi-cultural Family Policy can be called as a 'record of devotion' from many related organizations and people. Like a variety of colors make a one beautiful cloth, multi-culture in our society will bring us diversity and open mindedness. Based on our last 10 years results, let us create a productive next 10 years." 

Female mentors and mentees share dreams and directions
Gender Equality and Family Minister Heejung Kim held ‘2015 Meeting of Young Women Mentors and Mentees’ on 15 last month at the Bank Hall. 25 female leaders and 100 university students and job seekers participated in the event. The event provides practical help for women’s career and employment and career development. The first part of the event presented a talk show ‘Asking Your Dream’ which was followed by the second part’s ‘Asking Your Way’ and various group discussions took place. The talk shows in the event also were hosted by 11 female leaders including a ballerina Juwon Kim, writer Yeoul Jeong who wrote ‘The Way To Hesse’, make-up artist Sammul Jeong, secretary of vice president of Shinhan Bank Soonchul Shin and vice chairman of GM Korea Jina Hwang. Minster Kim said “Like the needle of a compass shakes itself to indicate the right direction, young people need to try themselves hard to find a right way. We are living in an age in which the role of women is highly expected for national competitiveness. Meanwhile, the government is working hard to reduce unemployment rate and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family also is gathering its capability to support women’s career development and employment.”
