Bohwan Yoon, the Minister of Glory Church
30 Year Plan to build the foundation of global missionary work and spiritual recovery
Serving as the Chairman of World Gospel Council and the Chairman of Hyupsung University's Theology Alumni Association

From a nonbeliever to a minister
Yoon's parents' hometown is Hwanghae Province but they settled down in Incheon after the Korean War. Despite their indifference to religion, Yoon actively participated in various church activities such as Sunday school, youth group, street & bus & dormitory missionary work in order to spread the gospel. But his devotion did not led him to study theology right away. As a nonbeliever, Yoon's father wanted him to lead a normal life like many people by saying that to act against parents' wish is an act of unfilial child. Following his father's will, Yoon started to work in full-time in the hope that his father would one day be persuaded by his dream to study theology. Unlike Yoon's prediction that his father might refuse his dream, he eventually allowed Yoon to do what he want with his life. But for some reason, Yoon still had to carry on working in full-time for five more years. Yoon then suffered from high fever which could not be diagnosed and he lingered between life and death. In the hope of curing the disease, Yoon prayed to God for an end to his sufferings and miraculously he was able to walk again the next day. Taking this as a divine revelation, Yoon quit his job and entered Hyupsung University to study theology at the age of 29.

Pioneering local church in Singapore for 10 years
Churches in Siheung and Incheon to be a role model

Yoon was ordained as the first missionary at the age of 32 and flew to Singapore with a mission to spread the gospel. During the 10 year period, he pioneered Glory Korean Methodist Church which grew to have a strong influence in the local community within 5 years of its opening. While engaging in vigorous missionary works with his leadership, he was called by the Director Homoon Lee and an elder Gyusik Choi of Soong Eui Church in Korea and eventually came back home in 2000. He soon opened a church in Janggok-dong, Siheung and started to serve for orphans and elderly people in the region. Although he could not gather many believers at first, as the church was new, he kept pursuing the value of sharing his belief with the local residents and of serving people in need. As a result, he could gather 150 believers within a year and moved the church to a bigger place. His family and the believers were impressed by Yoon's passion and devotion and they gave their unsparing support to raise a building fund so that the church could be independent. Due to the ever increasing number of believers in the 190 square meter church, they started to search for a new site from 2009 and built a new church in Nonhyeon-dong, Incheon. The church opened in September last year and it was a remarkable achievement in the 14 years history of the church. The church can accommodate 1,600 people and use one storey of the commercial building opposite the church as a vision center. Yoon says "we cannot achieve anything on our own but with the will of God. Therefore, I have nothing to say that can be called as hardship."

Spreading the gospel as a minister, theologist and missionary
Healing diseases with the power of the Holy Spirit

With his slogan 'Spiritual Recovery', Yoon is carrying out various missionary works home and abroad. He built a missionary center and a church in Singapore, Glory Church in Hwangdo, China and currently is spreading the gospel at Glory First Church in Osan and Under The Tree Church in Kenya, Africa. He also has been investing and running Mount Carmel Prayer Center to provide an opportunity for children to experience the world and they also hold a ski camp on a regular basis. Meanwhile, Yoon is playing various roles including the Chairman of Hyupsung University's Theology Alumni Association, the President of Hyupsung Methodist Ministers Council (3,000 members), the Chairman of The Korean Church Revival Council (ministers Yongki Choi and Hyungyun Shin as the co-presidents), the Permanent Vice President of World Central Gospel Council (minister Hyungyun Shin and director Homoon Lee as the co-presidents), the Chairman of World Gospel Council (minister Geongjin Pi as the president and minister Younghoon Han as the head of operation), the Chairman of CTS TV Revival Council and the Permanent President of Osanri Prayer Center Revival Council. He is also serving as a minister, theologist and missionary and provides biblical translation and performs miracles. With the power of the Holy Spirit and the imposition of his hands, he has cured cancer, leukemia, disc, blind and crippled.

30 Year Plan to build the foundation of global missionary work and spiritual recovery
"I will do my best to spread the gospel to the world"

Yoon built '30 Year Plan' when he came back to Korea. He says "it is a plan to spread the importance of church for the first 10 years, foster ardent believers for the next 10 years and build a foundation for global missionary for the last 10 years." The plan now is in the second phase. Meanwhile, Yoon is planning to run for director of Conference of Korean Missionary Church (Incheon, Siheung, Bucheon, Gimpo, Paju, Goyang, Ilsan and Ganghw). It is a role to represent and manage Methodist Church in Korea. Yoon says "my pledge is to suggest a vision to share the growth capability of the Korean Methodist Church with other churches. Church makes people and the people make a better world."
