끊임없는 연구개발로 건강기능식품 업계의 새로운 지평을 열다

식품의약품안전처가 지난해 건강기능식품 생산실적을 분석한 결과, 총 생산액은 1조 4,820억 원 규모로 2012년(1조 4,091억 원)에 비해 5% 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 국내 건강기능식품 시장규모는 2009년 이후 지속적인 성장세를 보였으며, 수출은 754억 원으로 2012년(584억 원)보다 무려 29% 증가하였고, 수입 또한 3,854억 원으로 9% 가량 증가한 것으로 집계됐다. 이는 100세 시대를 앞두고 높아진 건강한 몸에 대한 관심을 반증하는 것으로, 쏟아지는 제품들 속에서 진짜 옥석을 가리는 것이 무엇보다 중요해 보인다. 엄선된 재료와 최첨단 공법으로 건강기능식품 업계를 선도하고 있는 스톡미의 서동현 대표를 만나봤다.

2013년 12월 제주시에서 창립한 스톡미는 지난 4월 자체 기술연구소를 설립한 이래 끊임없는 연구개발을 통해 다양한 성과들을 도출해 왔다. 특히 초음파를 이용한 성분추출로 제품의 품질을 향상 시켰으며 나노세척기 사용으로 원재료에 함유되어 있을지 모르는 농약 및 유해성분을 99.9% 제거하여 높은 기술력을 입증해 보였다. 이러한 최첨단의 기술력을 바탕으로 현재까지 황보, JBB20 사포니아, 홍삼건, 클레오파트라 석류, 노루궁뎅이, 콜싸인 파워, 콜싸인 후레쉬 등 50여 가지 제품을 시판하고 있다. “중소기업인들에게 희망의 증거가 될 수 있는 선도 기업으로 남고 싶습니다. 나아가 책임 경영으로 세계적인 바이오 건강기능식품 전문회사로 거듭나고자 합니다.” 

스톡미는 2014년의 시작과 함께 신제품 ‘콜싸인 파워’와 ‘콜싸인 후레쉬’를 야심차게 발표했다. 이 제품들은 모두 국내 최초 천연식물성 숙취 음료로 간 기능을 활성화 시켜주는 6년근 홍삼을 비롯해 헛개나무 열매, 밀크시슬(엉겅퀴) 등이 주원료로 사용되었다. 또한 한국생명공학연구원이 개발한 숙취해소용 조성물로 쑥, 미나리, 칡, 콩나물 등 13가지 식물에서 추출한 천연물질을 사용하여 숙취해소는 물론 간 기능 향상, 성인병예방, 항암효과, 노화방지, 당뇨병예방의 효과를 동시에 기대할 수 있다. “종래기술은 쓴맛을 가리기 위해 꿀이나 물엿을 빈번히 사용해 왔지만 효능이 현저히 떨어진다는 한계가 있었습니다. 이에 저희 스톡미는 72시간 저온 숙성을 통해 쓴맛을 제거하고 진세노싸이드 성분은 높여 효능을 더욱 극대화하는데 성공했습니다.” 스톡미는 오프라인 채널과 오픈마켓, 소셜커머스와 같은 온라인 채널을 모두 풀가동 중에 있다. 또한 무역협회, 중소기업청, 상공회의소 등을 통해 다국적 기업과 유통망을 구축하여 수출을 전개하고 있으며, 편의점(CVS) 및 국방부(충성마트)에 이어 공항 면세점 납품을 눈앞에 두고 있다. 

자체 기술의 융·복합을 통해 농수산물 유통의 혁신 일궈내

스톡미는 회사 설립 5년여전부터 이미 일반 생활쓰레기와 각종 재활용 쓰레기, 폐합성수지, 액상 폐유 등을 저온 열분해하여 열분해 청정 연료류를 제조 생산하는 기술 개발에 성공한 바 있으며, 현재는 그동안의 열분해 공정 및 시스템 기술 개발을 통해 보유하게 된 기술력으로 농수산물 분야의 에너지원 확보에 새로운 혁신을 예고하고 있다. 현재는 농림수산 식품 기술 기획평가원에서 주관하고 있는 R&D 지원 사업인 ‘고부가 가치 식품 기술개발사업에 기능성/ 지능형 친환경 포장기술/ 식품기계 개발기술 부분’에 참여하여 많은 기업들의 이목을 집중시켰다.  특히, 제주 한라산 아가리쿠스버섯 농장과 같이 공동 협력하여 새로운 포장기술 개발을 추진하여 왔으며, 성공적인 기술개발 결과인 ‘부패방지 기술이 적용된 보관용기’에 대해 특허 출원을 준비하고 있다.  “아가리쿠스 버섯은 항암작용, 혈압, 면역, 각종 호흡기 질병 및 알레르기에 좋은 식품으로 익히 알려져 있으나 그동안 유통시 제품 보존기간이 너무 짧아 경쟁력을 확보하지 못했습니다. 이에 스톡미는 끊임없는 기술 연구개발을 통하여 에어-클리닝, 광선 살균, 초음파 살균, 자외선 살균, 가스 살균, 자동화 포장시스템 등을 포함한 대량 생산 공정 및 시스템과 부패방지 기술이 융합된 혁신적인 신기술의 보관용기 개발에 성공하였습니다.” 이러한 기술력은 모든 농수산·축산 및 가공식품 분야에도 적용 가능하여 향후 부패 가능성이 있는 식품의 유통분야에 커다란 변화를 예고하고 있다.  

그리고 아울러 국내를 넘어 해외 시장에서 상당한 반향을 불러일으킬 것으로 기대된다.

Opening up new horizons in the health food industry with continuous research and development

  The analysis of health and functional food manufacturing performance results last year by Ministry of Food and Drug Safety shows that the total output value was 1 trillion and 4,820 billion won, which increased by 5% compared to 2012 (1 trillion 4,091 billion won). The size of market for domestic health food has showed continued growth since 2009, and the exports of 75.4 billion won increased by 29% compared to the year of 2012 (584 million won), and the import of 3.854 billion won, which was approximately 9% increase, which disproved the increased interest for a healthy body ahead of the 100 years life time it seems more important than what is obscuring the real boulder in the pouring product. Stoke Me founded in December 2013 in Jeju which has come up a variety of results through continuous research and development since last April established its own R & D Center. Dulcis fruit, Milk Thistle has been used as the main ingredients. Korea Research Institute of Life Science and Engineering also developed as the composition to remove the hangover, using natural materials such as wormwood extract, parsley, arrowroot, bean sprouts etc 13 kinds of plants,  as well as hangover, and they can be expected to enhance the effect of liver function, prevent illnesses, cancer effects, anti-aging, diabetes prevention at the same time. "The prior skill was to often use honey or syrup in order to hide the bitter taste, which effect is less significant limitations. Stoke Me succeeded to maximize greater efficacy and removed the bitterness and enhance ginsenosides component by a low temperature aging 72 hours." Stoke Me is operating online channels such as social commerce channel and the open market. Through the trade associations, Small Business Administration, Chamber of Commerce, by establishing a multinational company with distribution it expands exports, followed by convenience stores (CVS) and the Department of Defense (loyal Mart) on the brink of establishing the store   of the airport duty-free delivery.

Through a combination of proprietary technology convergence to create the innovation in Agro-Fisheries Trade 

Stoke Me established 5 years before already successful in producing a pyrolysis technology to produce clean fuel flow to the various recyclable waste such as household waste, waste plastic, waste oil by low temperature, it was successful in manufacturing and technology to produce clean fuel, through the thermal cracking process and system technology in the meantime, and it technology power. notices the new innovation in securing energy sources areas of agricultural products.
