(주)클레슨은 창립 이래 23년간 전문적인 “세척기”에만 집중하여 높은 품질을 인정받고, 국제적인 경쟁력을 확보한 회사다. 양희준 대표는 1991년 “동양초음파”를 창업하여 당시로선 생소한 분야인 자동식기세척기를 개발했다. 양 대표는 언젠가 대량 급식이 보편화할 것을 내다보고, 서양의 접시에 맞게 개발된 독일제 식기세척기를 분해하여 우리 환경에 맞게 다시 만들었다고 한다. 또한 개인 단위로 판매하는 식기세척기 판매보다는, 초음파 세척기를 개발하면서 산업용 세척에 올인하게 된다. 올림픽 이후 고도산업기에 접어든 한국은 전자 장비와 자동차 산업, 그리고 반도체 산업의 규모가 점점 커지는 상황이었던 것이다. 그래서 자연히 산업 전반을 아우르는 세척기 시장이 성장하며 양 대표의 사업도 점차 건실해져 갔다. 양 대표의 판단은 옳았다. 전자 산업이 불황이면 자동차, 자동차 산업이 주춤하면 식/음료에 집중할 수 있었던 것이다. 이렇게 다양한 분야의 세척 장비를 개발하다 보니, 현재 (주)클레슨은 LCD TV, 자동차 엔진 및 미션 부품, 식/음료와 제약, IT/전자, 반도체의 세척설비를 원하는 삼성전자, LG전자, 현대, 기아등 유명 기업과 협력사 부품업체에도 1,000대가 넘는 기기를 납품하는 산업 세척기 전문회사가 되었다. 세척기는 기술도 중요하지만 짧은 시간동안 많은 세척을 하는 것이 기본이며, 결함과 고장이 없고 세척 상태도 완벽해야 한다. 근무자도 방제복을 입어야 출입이 가능한 업계의 정밀기기용 세정기기들은 설비 자체가 매우 복잡하기 때문에 웬만한 업체에서는 시도하기 어려운 분야인데, (주)클레슨은 이러한 기술력을 토대로 무인 자동화 식 대형 설비를 제작하는 가장 우수한 세척기를 제조하여 기업들에게 사랑받고 있다.

“경험치에 의존하여 정밀 기기를 만드는 관례는 제품의 불량률을 높일 수밖에 없다”고 주장하는 양 대표는 더 많은 시설을 확충하기 위해 1,000여 평의 부지를 매입하여 공장을 설계 중이다. 양 대표는 (주)클레슨의 기술력을 보여주기 위해 팔레트 세척기와 크레이트 세척기의 연구개발을 예로 들었다. “특허를 출원하며 세척기를 전문적으로 설계한 업체는 (주)클레슨이 유일하다. 특히 HACCP과 GMP 규정 강화로 안전기준치가 높아져 세척기 사용이 의무화됐다. 녹십자, 중외제약, CJ등 국내 굴지의 제약사들은 우리의 제품을 사용하고 있다”
더불어 살아가는 사회에 기여하는 “개척자의 경영”을 추구한다
고압 스프레이를 이용한 세척과 미세부품을 위한 초음파 세척기를 다변화한 벤처기업이자 창립 이래 오로지 전문성을 고집했기에, 정밀하기로 이름난 LCD버텀, LCD백커버 부품세척 전문회사에도 뒤지지 않는다고 자부하는 양 대표는 “LCD TV부품 세척의 경우 국내의 70%, 식/음료와 제약회사용은 국내 설비의 70%를 점유하고 있다. 앞으로 스페인에 수출 예정이며, 미주 유럽에서는 판로가 긍정적이다. 삼성, 현대, LG가 진출한 브라질, 멕시코, 폴란드 등에는 이미 꾸준히 수출 중이다. 덕분에 금년도는 약 60억의 매출을 기록했고, 2011년에는 LCD TV의 호황에 맞추어 생산한 덕분에 80억을 넘기기도 했다. 2014년에도 이미 있는 시장에 판매하는 것보다는 새로운 시장을 개척할 것이다”고 앞으로의 포부를 밝혔다. 양 대표는 아울러 “우리 회사는 규모는 작지만 강하고 전 직원의 단결력이 강하다. 직원들이 행복해하는 회사를 만드는 것이 가장 큰 꿈이다. 사업 초기에는 한때 어렵던 시기도 있었지만, 어느 정도 자리 잡고부터는 직원의 복지만큼 사회봉사에 관심을 갖게 되었다”는 CEO로서의 경영 이념을 덧붙인다. 양 대표의 철학에 따라 (주)클레슨은 인천을 대표하는 기업답게 사회문화적인 공헌에 앞장서고 있다. 양 대표는 “더불어 살아가는 이 세상의 가장 큰 보배는 인간의 개성이며, 이러한 개성을 존중하고 여유가 생길 때마다 봉사를 하는 것이 가장 빛나는 사업”이라는 평소의 신념을 실천하기 위해 인천시민야구단을 후원하여, 인천시의 체육과 야구단의 활성화에도 기여하고 있다. 이러한 가치경영으로 (주)클레슨은 기술과 인성이 어우러진 기업의 행보를 계속해나갈 것이다.

Since its establishment, Cleson has focused on washing machine for the past 23 years, receiving a recognition in its quality as well as garnering international competitiveness. Yang founded “Oriental Ultrasonic” in 1991 and developed an auto washing machine, which was rarely considered an industry at that time. Foreseeing that mass food service will become widespread in the near future, he dismantled a German dish washer and reassembled to match it with domestic environment.
After that, he developed an ultrasonic washing machine to focus on industrial washing machine. At that time, Korea which was moving into high industrialized society after hosting 1988 Seoul Olympics had been growing the scale of electronic equipment, automobile and semiconductor industries. This led to the growth in auto washing machine market and Yang’s business. His prediction turned out to be right. If electronic industry had depressed, he could have changed to automobile. If automobile industry is in bad shape, he could have focused on food industry. As of now, Cleson has become a leading auto washing machine maker and supplied more than 1,000 machines to partners of Samsung, LG, Hyundai and Kia.
A good washing machine should wash many loads of things for as short time as possible with no break-down and perfect washing skill. Especially, washing machines for precision instrument are greatly complicated, which makes it hard for rivals to develop. Cleson, however, succeeded to manufacturing the best unmanned washing machine based on its outstanding technologies.
Unrivaled and Unique Technology and Competitiveness
Since a foray into Japan in 2003, Cleson has exported its products to China, South East Asia countries and Australia, gaining international recognition. This made it to participate into projects led by the government and selected as a promising SME of Incheon city. Cleson has mainly supplied ultrasonic auto washing machine and in-line auto washing machine with water jet type. In order to improve the washing quality, it developed strong alkaline electrolyzed water with more than ph12.5 to remove industrial oil and harmful germs. Also, it has made a energy-reducing system, which mixes waste water reuse technology and micro precision filtration system into auto washing system. These equipment free of breakdown were made based on 6-patent, ISO9001, ISO14001 and CE certified technologies. The secret of getting ahead its rivals is thanks to technologies developed by its R&D institute established in 2006. Yang tries to prove the performance of the machine from various perspectives before producing it.
According to him, the practice of making precision instrument depending on experience cannot help increasing the failure rate of the product. To store much more facilities, he bought a land of 1,000 pyeong (3,305 sqm), planning to build a factory.
“Cleson is the only company specialized in making washing machines which obtained patents. Especially, the tightened regulation in HACCP and GMP has raised the safety standard, making the use of washing machine obliged. Korea’s leading pharmaceutical companies such as Nokshipja, Joongwei and CJ are using our products.” he said.
Seeking Frontier Business Spirit
As it has diversified its business area into washing machine with high pressure and ultrasonic washing machine, and focused on technologies since its inception, he has a deep pride in his company.
“In terms of washing of LCD TV component, we take up 70% of domestic market, and 70% of domestic facility for food and pharmaceutical industry is made by us.
We are planning to enter Spanish market and have a positive sign in America and European markets. We are steadily exporting our products to Brazil, Mexico and Poland where Samsung, Hyundai and LG has already entered into.
Thanks to this, we achieved around 6 billion Won revenue this year. In 2011, we even had a 8 billion revenue with a boost of sales in LCD TV. In 2014, we will try to pioneer a new market instead of focusing on the existing ones. Although Cleson is not a big company, it boasts a harmony and cooperation of all employees. My dream is to make all our employees happy. At that time I started this business, I also faced difficulties. Now that the business is in a good shape, I begin to have interest in contributing to society.“ said he.
As a leading company in Incheon, Cleson is also taking a leading role in contributing to society. “One of the greatest values in this world is to value uniqueness of others. Whenever I have time, I try to do volunteering works.”
