As an economic slump continues in Korea, the construction industry also finds it hard to stay afloat, with a growing number of companies going to bankruptcy. Large companies are no exception because a lack of public construction projects and a continuous recession in housing economy. Amid such difficult situations, there is one leading construction company that has continued to receive orders, making steady growth. It is Daeeun Construction Co., Ltd. that takes pride in its systematic network and technical know-how.

Daeeun Construction with Human Network and Expertise

Daeu Construction, located at Gangdong-gu Seoul, originated from Jabong House Construction in 2003 and was reborn into Daeeun Construction Co., Ltd. in 2004, drawing much attention from the building industry. Since then, it has accumulated its own experiences, expertise and human infrastructure in various fields such as apartments, reconstruction, officetels, urban-living houses and neighborhood commercial district facilities, and it has grown up enough to compete on a par with other large building companies. Its incumbent CEO Song Guk-Seong took office in 2004 when succeeding to his parent's 30-year-old business. After majoring in design, he decided to start a construction business because design is a key element in the construction. CEO Song has been successful in fully developing Daeeun Construction through its independent technology and human network accumulated from his parent's 30-year-old experiences in the construction industry. "Our company holds lots of partners in comparison with its size and we have the strength in having good employees and partners," CEO Song said. He also revealed another secret to his success, explaining the background of such a significant corporate growth. He expressed great thanks to managing director Kim Byeong-Chun of Seoul City Credit, executive director Lee Seong-Hui of Ilshin Group, deputy department director Lee Dong-Seop of the Ojeong Nonghyup, and his cheerful wife (Eom Bok-Hee).

Growing Reliable Company with Sensitive and Elaborate Management Philosophy

When building a house, CEO Song Guk-Seong gives more considerations to people therein rather than money. He has carried out a house-building project by setting only the attainable goals without taking up a dangerous challenge. Thanks to his sensitive and elaborate management philosophy, he managed to record 1 million-won sales in 2010. His company has taken charge of various construction projects on buildings, houses, civil engineering and development projects, among which he made the best success in house-building projects. Also, he could manage to make the company well known in 2009 and 2010 when carrying out a row house reconstruction project at Ganseok-dong Namdong-gu Incheon and a residential-commercial complex with 42 households at the Sosa district in Bucheon. He took over both projects, which were given up by previous construction companies. As a result of his efforts, however, he carried out those projects successfully by winning confidence from members. He also paid keen attention to interior designs, taking housewives into full considerations while building houses and apartments. Accordingly, his company got down well with residents as a kind, reliable company with full responsibilities.

Realizing Customer Satisfaction with Continuous Technical Development and Better Quality

Thanks to its reliable management strategies, Daeeun Construction has proven its competence, e.g., by acquiring a certificate of ISO9001, being designated as a small & medium-size company for management innovation, being selected as one of the best innovation companies & brands in 2011, and being selected as an excellent company for management innovation in 2011. Now, it has just finished constructing Gallery White Block along with Hanmi Parsons and has been carrying out 140 urban houses at Dongseon-dong Seoul, and a new construction of the building and dormitory of the Top-Class institute at Seo-Icheon.

Also it has been carrying out a new construction of neighborhood commercial district facilities at the Unjeong district in Paju, a new construction of the Daeeun Palace View residential-commercial complex with 41 households at Yangpyeong, a new construction of the 88-room officetel of Gangnam University at Gugal-dong Geeheung-gu Paju, and a 80-room Imperial officetel at the Gangil district Seoul and is scheduled to do so at Ui-dong Gangbuk-gu Seoul. Also, it plans to conduct a reconstruction & redevelopment apartment project in Suwon, Icheon and Goyang. After receiving orders of 40 billion won in 2011, it sets a goal at accomplishing orders of 60 billion won in 2012. It won a grand award from the Korea Culture & Tourism Brand Awards in the construction section at the Seoul Press Center in August 2010.

The CEO said: ¡°The culture of the conduction industry must change in the upcoming years. We are determined to create future spaces under the coexistence of tradition and innovation. To do so, we will build up human & technical infrastructures that display our abilities fully to create values." The construction industry in Korea played a key role in laying the framework for its national competitiveness, and now it must become a leading industry for the bright future of Korea. We have the full responsibility to recreate an innovative construction culture for future by concentrating on endless technical development, quality upgrade and customer satisfaction.
