Samsung Electronics put up a booth at the Gwangju Future Industry Expo 2024 and introduced new bespoke home appliances loaded with AI. The company demonstrated how its home appliances are connected and controlled on-screen through SmartThings. Samsung home appliances come with LCD touch screen. In the AI energy saving zone, the company showcased how consumers can save energy according to their life style through various saving modes, schedule modes and optimized charging. The sustainable future zone showcased the bispoke AI hybrid refrigerator, which utilizes peltier elements, a type of semiconductor, to provide efficient cooling solutions, and the Infinite AI cube air purifier, which can be cleaned without the need for periodic filter changes. The bispoke AI kitchen showcased AI vision insight, a food recognition feature built into the bispoke AI familyHub refrigerator, as well as Samsung food AI vision, which analyzes the ingredients in a single photo of food and finds and recommends similar recipes.
Samsung Electronics and Kookmin Card release IoT credit card
Samsung Electronics and Kookmin Card launched IoT credit cards. The card utilizes Bluetooth low energy technology and SmartThings Find, which can determine the location of a wide range of Samsung devices, including Galaxy smartphones and tablets, wearables, tags, and more when you lost your card. You check the location of the lost within 7 days of disconnecting the Bluetooth low energy. Using this, you can also find you Galaxy smartphone when lost. It lets you know when the card is apart from you in a certain distance and Bixby will point out the location with a voice. The IoT credit card is wirelessly charged to use up to 30 days. You can have one of the 1,000 initial release either with Kookmin Card or American Express.
