The human body’s meridians provide a clearer picture of the existence and flow of ki (energy). This proves that kigong healing harmonizes the principles of nature and human life-sustaining principles, and ultimately governs the human body. Jeonggu Kim, Director of Total Alternative Medicine, recounted his experiences helping patients with tremors and spasms, and found the mind-body exercises to fight off illnesses and build strength.

Helping people with suffering body and mind

Kim’s approach to healing is based on aligning misaligned bones and removing bad ki from the body. He believes that most of all illnesses are caused by a weak mind and body, and that overwork and lack of timely treatment due to economic circumstances are also factors. In addition to his various qualifications in healing, he is also a licensed technician. “I was active as a judo athlete in the 1960s, and a wrestler during my military service. I can say that the fact that I have consistently studied for certifications such as sports massage and health instructor whenever I have time has made me who I am today. There are many people who are suffering from unexplained illnesses and mutations of the same disease, and it is my sincere desire to give hope to those who are waiting for healing due to physical and mental illnesses that cannot be solved by modern medical technology” says Kim. Alternative medicine can be defined as any folk, natural, or ethnic healing practice that is beyond the scope of modern medicine. Globally, Korean medicine and Chinese medicine are viewed as a field of alternative medicine, and in both countries, it is a natural healing method that is widely used to the point where it is classified as orthodox medicine. Kim predicts that as the number of incurable diseases grows, the interest in alternative medicine will increase to ensure human survival. This year, he made a new home in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, where he is leading the way in kigong healing. He believes that before any ki healing, it is important to have a strong belief that the body and mind can be improved in any way, so that the synergistic effect of the body can be multiplied.

“Cancer and other incurable diseases may not be treated in hospitals anymore. There are many conditions where alternative medicine can be more effective such as manual therapy, KI healing, massage, kigong and mind healing. I will go wherever there are people waiting for my touch, and I will never lose my initial desire to do something that touches people’s hearts” says Kim.
