President Yoon attends the opening ceremony of the Aerospace Administration and the 1st National Space Committee

President Yoon attended the opening ceremony of the Korea Aerospace Administration and the first National Space Committee held at the temporary building of the Aerospace Administration in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do on May 30. In his congratulatory address, he emphasized that just as mankind created a new history by pioneering the sea during the Age of Exploration 500 years ago, we must now open a new era and lead the space standard by pioneering space routes. He said that space technology is a collection of cutting-edge science and technology and the most powerful future growth engine. More than 70 countries around the world are competing fiercely by creating organizations dedicated to the space industry.

The Korea Aerospace Administration focuses on challenging and innovative R&D and the aerospace industry ecosystem. He said he would open the New Space era by providing support and nurturing talented people with expertise. He said he would promote the ‘Space Gwanggaeto Project’ to land our probe on the moon in 2032 and plant the Korean flag on Mars in 2045. He said he would ensure that the Aerospace Administration can flexibly respond to changes, open all positions to the private sector, including foreigners, and treat top experts commensurate with their abilities. He said he would expand the related budget to more than 1.5 trillion won by 2027 and invest about 100 trillion won by 2045.

Yoon attends the ‘2024 Korea Small and Medium Enterprises Conference’ to express willingness of his support

Yoon attended the 2024 Korea Small Business Conference on May 23 and expressed his commitment to supporting and fostering small and medium-sized businesses. He awarded the Industrial Medal, Industrial Service Medal, and Presidential Citation to small and medium-sized business owners who contributed to Korea's innovative growth and national economy, and took a commemorative photo to encourage them. “There are companies that have great products but are unable to open export channels or need a lot of help to reach global markets. I will work hard to support SMEs, ventures, and startups that have the competitive edge to enter the global market. I will continue to innovate regulations and build a business-friendly environment for small businesses to grow. I will step up my sales diplomacy so that the world's markets are your markets and 8 billion people are your customers” said Yoon and added “I am encouraged to see you, but I also feel a great responsibility as president. The government will do its best to help you enter the overseas market. I hope you will challenge and jump from a market of 50 million to a market of 8 billion.”
