GOM & Company is a video technology group that makes the world full of fun. GOM Player and GOM TV are already well known to many people. While expanding the services in Japan, GOM & Company is also strengthening its capabilities in digital media literacy home and abroad.

 

GOMplayer, GOM Mix and GOM TV

Released on October 2021, GOM Mix is a software for making and editing videos. It is easy and simple to edit the videos and the version 2024 includes more than 110 kinds of AI voices in addition to easy presets, filtering effects, fonts and color options, subtitles, fun stickers, multi-tract editing, and chroma keys. It is noteworthy that GOM Mix is used as a test program for the Digital Information Ability Test, a nationally recognized qualification exam. This is attracting particular attention because it can be used at a cost of about 20% of the cost of using existing expensive imported video editing software.

 

The 3rd Easy Creativity Video Festival 

In addition to its own training, GOM & Company works with media education organizations such as the Community Media Foundation (Governmentaffiliated institution) and the National Association of Community Mediacenters on a variety of digital literacy training. GOM & Company CEO Byungki Lee said “International organizations such as the United Nations and developed countries have various programs to build digital media literacy skills. In the age of video communication, being able to create videos, not just watch them, is the right digital literacy skill set”. The company has now conducted more than 1,000 combined online and offline training sessions since 2020, and it will continue its training efforts alongside running a media report corp. GOM & Company also runs Easy Creativity Video Festival and the 3rd festival this time will give out 40 million(KRW) money prizes. Application is open from March 1 and the result will be announced on May 1. CEO Lee said “We will continue to conduct research, development and activities to ensure that our products and services position us as a leader in empowering digital literacy for citizens around the world”.
