Tailored programs

J Drawing is famous for tailored drawing programs for different age groups from 4 years old to high schoolers. Director Jiah Lee who majored in industrial design, has built extensive knowledge and skills in the field since her 20s.

“I have enjoyed drawing very much since I was a child. Naturally, I started teaching children to draw early and I felt it my calling. I completed a teaching degree and went on teacher training. Opening my own business came from this experience and knowhow.” says Lee.

All programs at J Drawing is tailored for different level and preference and they cover not only drawing but also making, expressing, claying, 3D pen, oil, acrylic, illustration, photoshop and iPad drawing. All classes are run one on one or one on two for good results.

Building confidence through fun drawing

“We all are different. In other words, there is no right way to draw. It is OK for all of us to express what we feel and my job is to bring that out. In fact, children have limitless possibilities and creativeness and we should encourage and stimulate them. This way, they can build confidence and make drawing fun.” says Lee.

Everytime a class is finished, children get reward points and they are highly encouraged to participate exhibitions organized by J Drawing. Lee has knowledge in art psychotherapy for children and knows very well how children express their feelings in drawing. Children with ADHD or autism, for example, showed their symptoms improved after having drawing sessions with Lee. For those who live far, Lee also runs an online class called ‘mom and me kids’ so that they can learn drawing easy and hassle free in distance.

“I plan to turn J Drawing as a social enterprise so that I can help children in need more systematically. I believe that art is one of the good ways for children to release their emotional turmoil.” says Lee.

Recognized for these excellent programs, J Drawing won Art Education at the 2024 Korea Education Industrial Awards.
