Ministry of Economy and Finance and Korea Customs Service join hands to support import/export companies

Officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korea Customs Service paid a visit to import/export companies near Incheon International Airport on January 30 to hear difficulties and to bring up necessary measures. Officials said that they would eliminate inefficient customs regulations and introduce AI-based services for tax and for tracking goods. Economy and Finance Minister Choi asked the staff in charge that they would open a fast communication channel with import/export companies and take proactive actions against possible trade conflicts. He especially emphasized importance on finding drugs and illegal goods as well as money laundry while asked the staff to be ready for 24 hour service during the national holiday this month.

 

Ministry's 25 college student reporters get off the ground

The Economy and Finance Ministry's 25 college student reporters get off the ground for the year 2024. Their mission is to deliver the news of the ministry to the people through social media. The 25 reporters were picked among a total of 101 candidates. In his encouragement speech, minister Choi said that the 25 young reporters were PR partners of the ministry and asked them to deliver the news to the people as easy and creative as possible. He especially emphasized that they would pay particular attention to the voice of young people like them for the ministry to bring up customized policies in the future.
