Kyeongdong ENS is a traffic safety facility company that has developed a ‘durable cotton luminescent floor signal light’ and is distributing its K-Smart crosswalk system in Korea. Developed by the company’s affiliated research institute in collaboration with POSCO, the traffic light is equipped with a Before/Service system that detects and repairs malfunctions before pedestrians are aware of them, and gives a voice warning if pedestrians are concerned about violating the floor signal. It also prevents glare at night and improves visibility during the day. In addition, it triple-protects the traffic light with an inner, outer, and case for added durability. The traffic lights are easy to construct because they are prefabricated at the factory, and they are also eco-friendly because the enclosures can be recycled when they are collected.

The cotton luminescent floor signal light is double waterproofed with an inner and outer shell for heavy rainfall. The inner shell is made of PC material and the outer shell is made of AL material, and both the inner and outer shells are IP68 certified. IP ratings are an international standard for the waterproof and dustproof performance of electronic equipment, with IP68 certification ensuring that the device is completely dust and water resistant and will maintain its functionality even if it is constantly submerged.

Kyeongdong ENS’ heat-blocking composite material was used to block the sun’s heat and prevent condensation by removing moisture and oxygen. The company also paid attention to heat dissipation to prevent malfunction and deterioration of the traffic lights due to the hot ground in summer, and used heat dissipation composite materials, which are easy to remove and can be installed in the field. Kyeongdong ENS aims to provide a smart crosswalk integrated traffic safety system in Korea by integrating a pedestrian voice guidance device, pedestrian safety induction light, vehicle guidance for violating the stop line, crosswalk focus light, and right turn hazard notification in addition to cotton luminescent floor signal lights.
