Kotra holds 2023 Korea-LAC Innovation & Trade Forum

KOTRA held the 2023 Korea-LAC Innovation & Trade Forum with the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Export-Import Bank of Korea in Mexico City for two days starting on October 18. About 50 companies from 8 countries and 13 domestic companies participated in the forum, and about 80 consultations were held. Telefónica's Colombian subsidiary, Heineken, and Pepsi Mexico also participated in the event and sought business cooperation opportunities with Korean telecommunications and smart manufacturing companies. In Central and South America, the proportion of 5G communication network connections is expected to increase to 12% by 2025, and the number of smart home users is expected to exceed 100 million. Kotra said “We will use this forum as an opportunity to continue working with the IDB to help Korean companies with excellent ICT capabilities enter the Latin American market.”

 

Kotra holds Boom Up Korea

Kotra held the 2023 Korea Biz-Trade Show at KINTEX for two days from October 18. A total of 700 companies from 62 countries participated and engaged in 8,000 export consultations in infra, energy, health service, bio, premium materials and franchise. Apple, Boeing, GM, Schaeffler, and Rivian were some of the notable participants. A Thai company said, “We look forward to collaboration with Korea’s leading electric vehicle parts companies to build a new electric vehicle value chain.” The Boom Up Korea was jointly held with KOAA·GTT SHOW, Sobujang Root Technology Exhibition, Metal Industry Exhibition, and International Tool and Smart Welding Automation Exhibition. KOTRA expressed its ambition, saying, “We will connect more buyers and Korean companies so that Korean products can be sold overseas.”
