The work of Korean ki painting artist Yujeong Seo is characterized by strong energy, creating special drawings to wish people health and happiness. After a successful exhibition in Arizona in the first half of this year, she has taken a step toward the global stage with another exhibition of Ki paintings in the U.S. this summer. The invitational took place August 1-6 at a meditation center in Vermont, on the border of the United States and Canada. Seo said "I love being able to communicate with people from different countries. Even though we don't speak the same language, there are many things we can feel even if we can't communicate. I am especially grateful to be able to communicate widely through my ki paintings."

Attention from overseas continues

Ki paintings go global

The invitational exhibition was praised for fulfilling the artist’s wish to heal the bodies and minds of many people through Ki paintings filled with good energy. The artist, who accelerated her overseas expansion with a series of successful exhibitions in the U.S., is already known in Korea as an artist who has consistently presented rare ki paintings every year.

Ki paintings are characterized by the coexistence of abstract and western feelings while exuding strong energy, and she is currently receiving invitations from various countries beyond Korea. Professor Kim Hyun-moon, who visited the exhibition, said, “Seo’s artistic inspiration comes from the Milky Way. When this flow dances on the canvas, it becomes a painting, and when it flows in the air, it becomes a silver light dance.” With each successive overseas exhibition, it’s clear that Seo’s work is evolving in so many different ways, which is why it’s so exciting to watch her work and her shining silver light dance spread across the international art market.

In recent years, Korean artists have been garnering a lot of attention for their overseas expansion, and the artist has received attention from the United States, Japan, and the Philippines. Her paintings are energizing and lucky, which has attracted a growing number of clients both locally and internationally. Seo said “The idea that I want to make someone’s life happier with my paintings is still valid. As you know, after the good results of the exhibition in the United States, I realized that I wanted to continue my activities more globally. I want to show my paintings to art lovers all over the world and share Korean pride.” 

When she paints, she uses the energy of love, peace, and happiness she receives through prayer and meditation to work unconsciously, unattached, with her hands. While she is highly regarded for her abstract techniques that utilize ethereal colors and textures in a unique way, Ki paintings also convey the energy of love, peace, and happiness, making the body and mind healthy. “My paintings are more comfortable when viewed from different angles.  Ki paintings are illuminated differently from the east, west, north, and south, which means you can look at them from different angles and fill up on the energy you need. I want the viewer to take in the energy slowly, to see and feel it. Everyone’s energy is different, so I want you to look at each picture slowly and feel the peace of mind and energy together. My work is divided into galactic black holes in the sky, on the ground, and in people, such as black holes in the ground, black holes in people, black holes between men and women, and black holes between parents and children. The reason I am particularly drawn to ki paintings is that I feel that nature, the universe, and humans all start from a single point. It’s about expressing gratitude for that one thing with all my heart.” The artist plans to focus on preparing for a series of exhibitions in Europe later this year.
