HanEduTech (CEO Ilhwan Han) introduced the MetaKorea app, a global service platform for disseminating Korean and K-contents this year. MetaKorea is a platform where you can access all Korean mock tests, automatic translation of K-content videos, Metaverse classrooms and communities, and news related to Korea translated into each country’s language.

A company official said “We have been collaborating with ‘OCI’ (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), a global cloud service provider, since the first half of the year to create infrastructure to expand Meta Korea’s global services. As a result, we were selected as a start-up company for the 2023 Global Corporate Collaboration Program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. MetaKorea is a platform ambitiously prepared by HanEduTech targeting the global market.”

The MetaKorea app provides a variety of Korean mock test services for each test taker. EPS-TOPIK for Foreign Employment Permit System workers, TOPIK for foreign students and Korean language learners, and foreign students and those seeking employment at Korean companies as well as OK-TEST, which is directly hosted by Han Edutech, are included. It is also equipped with user-oriented convenience functions and solutions.

A company official said “It is designed so that various types of questions can be uploaded through a self-developed administrator mode tool, allowing language tests and test questions in other fields to be uploaded as well. Depending on the user’s purpose, you can select either practical mode or learning mode. This is very easy to use for self-study because it is equipped with explanation and incorrect answer checking functions. We plan to link it with the facial recognition solution developed as a government-supported R&D project in the future.” It provides high-quality Korean language courses produced at Korean universities, and users can take as many courses as they want by selecting the level of difficulty that suits their learning level. It is also available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and Vietnamese. It provides short-form-based K-content that fully reflects the needs of the MZ generation, which is Meta Korea’s main user base, and is interesting in that it encourages people to learn short Korean expressions in addition to watching videos for simple fun.

HanEduTech plans to provide a wide range of services for users in various countries by combining STT and automatic translation solutions. A company official said “We are focusing on operating community and educational services using the Metaverse platform. We are also preparing 1:1 Korean matching lectures by introducing the Metaverse classroom and collaborating with domestic universities. Through the part that provides Korean news, we provide customized card news-type content, while categorizing content that fits the topic and encouraging users to use it for each purpose. In addition, we will provide more efficient customized content by organizing study abroad, testing, and employment tabs.” 

MetaKorea will become a stepping stone for nurturing global talent

In 2018, HanEduTech launched the ‘HSK-iBT Korean Committee’, an official Chinese language certification, and launched the first Chinese national mock test service in Korea. HanEduTech, which has exclusive domestic and international service rights for the OK-TEST Vocational Korean Proficiency Test, the only Korean language test that has obtained Chinese national certification approval, was selected as the host company for government-supported R&D projects based on its technological capabilities and is leading the way in the EduTech field.
