As of 2021, the domestic camping population has grown significantly, with nearly 7 million campers in Korea. The pandemic caused a brief lull in camping-related activities, but with the end of social distancing and the continuation of the pandemic society, camping is once again experiencing a revitalization. This year, the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Saemangeum, Jeollabuk-do, will be held at the new Jamboree campground, bringing together tens of thousands of youth and leaders from more than 150 member countries around the world. As a result, the market for outdoor and camping-related products is growing, with many new products being introduced. Camping has become one of the main trends in domestic travel and vacations.

Bringing the bliss of being one with nature to everyone, young and old

Buffalo, the official tent brand of the World Camping Festival and World Scout Jamboree

BFL is a company that provides affordable camping and outdoor experiences, with the goal of bringing you the happiness of being one with nature. Buffalo, the company’s own brand, is a camping brand that has been putting consumer happiness and relaxation first for more than 40 years. The brand continues to research and develop tents, tables and countertops, chairs and cabinets, coppers and utensils, lanterns and burners, beds and sleeping bags. The recent weather has put many people off camping. High temperatures are one thing, but one minute the sun is shining and the next it’s pouring. The Jamboree Dome Tent is made with a 3000mm water-resistant fabric that’s safe in the rain and UV-coated to protect you from the sun, so you can enjoy camping without worrying about the elements. The tent has a cool structure with two entrances and two windows for easy access and ventilation, mesh windows on the inside to keep pests at bay while allowing you to see the landscape, and ventilation to keep the air fresh and prevent condensation inside the tent. Buffalo is the official tent of the World Scout Jamboree, a worldwide camping celebration organized by the World Scout Federation every four years, and the Jamboree Dome tent is also the official tent of the Jamboree event.

Accelerating the development of outdoor brands and consumer products

Striving for regional coexistence

In addition to the Buffalo brand, BFL develops apparel, climbing shoes, backpacks, hats and scarves, gloves, socks and protectors under the BFL Outdoor brand. It offers high-tech, functional outdoor products that protect the body in outdoor environments and keep it in peak condition, enabling it to take on any challenge. The company is also focusing on developing consumer products that can generate steady sales, and one such product is Shower-Me. Shower-Me, which was also provided to the participants of this year’s World Scout Jamboree, is a towel product that can be used to clean the entire body in situations where it is difficult to wash with water. The large size allows you to wipe your entire body with a single sheet, while the naturally biodegradable fabric is made of microplastic-free bamboo, and the microbial hypochlorite water base is gentle on the body and sterilizes bacteria at the same time. Made with 7 skin-protecting natural ingredients, it’s safe and gentle on the body.

While BFL is creating a foothold in the global market, it is also committed to serving the local community. The company continues to sponsor the Hope Care Center in Namyangju for low-income families, and before the pandemic, it hosted company tours and socialization lectures for military troops in Namyangju. The company has also contributed to revitalizing the local economy by gradually adding jobs in Namyangju as it expands its operations. In recognition, BFL has received the Brand of the Year for Camping for six consecutive years. CEO Minho Gwak said “We will lead consumers to pleasant leisure that will enrich their lives.”
