New Gujeong Plaza Pharmacy opens 24 hours

Jinseok Huh, CEO of New Gujeong Plaza Pharmacy that is a Hope Lighthouse Company of Ministry of Justice, is taking various roles apart from pharmacist: Head of Mugunghwa Welfare World Gangneung Volunteer Corps, Senior Council of Legal Protection Committee, Gangwon-dongbu Branch Council and Housing Assistance Commission, Korea SGI Gangwon Bukbang-myeon Chief, Director of Gyosan Nanseolhun Sunyanghoe, Senior Vice Chairman of the Legal Protection and Welfare Corporation, Advisory Board Member of Love Room Transportation Corps, Head of People Unification Gwangwon and Chairman of the Healthcare Committee.

Mugunghwa Welfare World is a public benefit corporation that advocates the right to survival, protection, development, and participation based on the value of life dignity, and conducts awareness raising, volunteerism, friendship expansion support, sharing projects, tomorrow hope culture, education projects, environmental improvement, and community development projects. 

The pharmacy is trusted to serve as a health assistant for the citizens of Gangneung by operating an emergency pharmacy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Pharmacy has been engaged in professional welfare work to advocate for the right to survival, protection, development, and participation, and has been striving to create a happy world through the promotion of peace, culture, education, and environment in the community.

In order to create a happy and healthy world for everyone, Huh has been working with local government offices to donate nutritional supplements to the elderly living alone since 2015. He donated books to Kujung Elementary School and Geojin Elementary School in 2016, held a seminar on good parenting in 2017, donated money to help low-income families in Hongje-dong in 2019, donated books to Okgye Middle School in 2021, sponsored vulnerable prisoners in 2022, and continues to sponsor independence to prevent recidivism. 

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province in July 2023, he was assigned the task of organizing an exhibition of artworks by painter Park Jung-hee and the Ministry of Justice’s Beautiful Accompaniment to raise funds for crime prevention and legal protection projects for legal protection recipients.

He said “I am dedicated to volunteering to make the world a beautiful place by accompanying people under legal protection as a companion of hope. Recently, I am studying to create a happy world by challenging a doctoral program at Caroline University, and I will continue to contribute to society.”
