It has become so popular that young people in South Korea watch tarot card reading on Youtube rather than looking for fortuneteller. Naturally, the number of people who want to make tarot masters their profession is increasing and so are the related educational institutions.

Korea Tarot Reading Education Association President Mijin Cho is running programs designed with practical training built on her 100% experience. Through this, they are fostering tarot masters who can listen to people’s concerns and give advice. There are differences depending on the type, but in general, the tarot consists of a total of 78 chapters: 22 major arcana chapters and 56 minor arcana chapters. The tarot reader lists the cards and reads their meanings to give people advice about the past, present, and future. Each card has a different meaning, and the original meaning changes depending on the direction of the card and where the card is placed, so the interpretation depends purely on the competence of the tarot reader. 

For this reason, Cho works on training with the belief that “the fate of a person must be read by those who are prepared.” She provides a hands-on reading curriculum that can handle everything from the basics to the master. As the popularity of tarot grew, more and more people wanted to take up tarot mastering as a side hustle or a second career, and tarot educational institutions sprang up to meet the demand. However, most of them focus on memorizing the meaning of the tarot by rote. For this reason, Cho uses a curriculum that completes the keywords of tarot cards with a high hit rate and systematizes specific reading methods. Tarot interpretation also requires storytelling techniques, so it avoids simple memorization, which often is not working in practice.

Classes consist of beginner, intermediate, advanced, and master classes, and only the first 4 applicants are accepted for a one-on-one class or in a small number class. This is because group classes make it hard to deliver deeper knowledge and focused training. Just as each person has a field that they are good at and a field that they are not good at, when it comes to storytelling, depending on the person, there are fields where they can tell a story well and those who are not. Therefore, Cho takes care of each student and guides them to develop good practical habits.

She has seen many students disappointed in cheap training which also did not lead to generating profits. Knowing this very well she focuses on one on one class and many of her students have shown high satisfaction. She also lets her students to film her class for review anytime and anywhere. Thanks to this, some students should sometimes wait for about 2 to 3 months to take her course.

Cho has been constantly researching to improve tarot accuracy, perfecting a high-hit reading technique, and creating unique tarot keywords. She has systematized the curriculum on the client’s personality, past, destiny, career direction, and future, and based on this, she analyzes it according to the time, situation, and object to make an accurate interpretation of the type. In addition to more than 10 years of experience, she also holds a certificate in art therapy and psychological counseling, and is practicing both tarot and psychological counseling. She opened an online lecture site ‘Rexytarot’ to share the know-how she has gained through this experience with more people. All of the lectures uploaded here use tarot reading samples of more than 1,000 practical questions she learned while working as a tarot master. And the contents are the same as her offline classes. 

The Korea Tarot Reading Education Association is registered to the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training. The association is an organization that issues first- and second-level certificates and certificates of tarot counselors. In recognition of her contribution in the field, Cho received the Korea Future Management Awards in tarot training for 3 years in a row since 2020 and she is listed for this year’s winner also.
