Last month, I went to Jeju to cover the exhibition of artist Yujeong Seo which was held at the Jeju Jeoji Healing Stay Exhibition Center. Following the Arizona exhibition in the United States in the first half of the year, Seo£ªs exhibition this time attracted American and French visitors who made the exhibition more exciting. The exhibition was planned as part of the Kuksundo Festival, which was held alongside. Kuksundo members from the United States, Romania, France, Canada, and Korea participated in the festival, and after seeing Seo£ªs energy painting exhibition, they practiced kuksundo and meditated healing at Sanbangsan, Sagye Beach, Samyang Buddhist Temple, and Seongsan Ilchulbong.

The energy painting that once again colored Jeju Island

Seo is a highly acclaimed artist

Seo’s exhibition was held under the theme of finding myself and she exhibited 12 works. She said “It’s nice just to be able to communicate with people from different countries. Even though the language is different, I think there is something that can be felt. I’m grateful just to feel that, and I hope that people around the world will be healthy and happy on the occasion of this exhibition.” The one who organized the Kuksundo Festival is Prof. Heonmoon Kim who founded the Poil Kuksundo Federation. Kim has established branches in the United States, North America, France, Europe, and Malaysia, and has spread our Zen culture, which has become the birthplace of Taoism. He was deeply attracted to Seo’s energy painting last fall and has been promoting her works wholeheartedly. He integrated the spiritual world of the East with the psychology of the West to establish the creative concept of natural health management. Headquartered in the United States since 1980, he has been spreading the healing and spiritual culture of Taoism, which is forest healing, to Western society with a modern concept. He said “The works of Seo, one of Korea’s leading energy painters, is a special exhibition that prays for health and happiness through strong energy. Together, we plan to hold an exhibition in June or October following this Jeju exhibition under the theme of the journey of light and self.” He added “Her artistic inspiration comes from the Milky Way. That’s why her nickname is Eungwang. When this flow dances on the canvas, it becomes a painting, and when it flows through the air, it becomes a silver dance. When we talk about Picasso, we call him the genius of abstraction. However, the basis of his work was the people and their lives because his interest began with the existential anguish of human figures. In the same vein, Seo has also drawn a lot of people. However, the figure as an early painting gradually turns into a facial print. It is another depiction of the human psyche imbued in the unconscious. In addition, based on the foundation of ‘We are one,’ we will pursue more meaningful exhibitions so that they can serve as an opportunity to take center stage in today’s dizzying and uncertain world.” Kim and Seo formed a relationship in Jeju, and they said it was meaningful to be able to once again hold an energy exhibition in Jeju where people from various countries were invited.

Sincere heart in the dot to express thanks

Seo has been focusing on overseas activities ever since the energy painting Jeju Island exhibition last year. The overseas expansion of Korean artists has received a lot of attention. This is because when artists work overseas, they can make their work known to more people and raise awareness. However, overseas expansion is not an easy task, and it comes with various difficulties and worries. In the midst of this, Seo drew attention by making global moves day after day. Her energy paintings are basically paintings that give energy and good luck, and the number of people who believe it and commission a painting from her has increased home and abroad. Seo said “I want my paintings to make my life happier. Especially at the beginning of this year, I realized that I would like to continue my activities more globally after achieving good results through the exhibition in the United States. I hope that I can show my paintings to painting lovers around the world and let them know the pride of Korea.” She said “You can look at my paintings comfortably from multiple angles. The energy picture is different in the east, west, north, and south. If you look at it from multiple angles, it’s more appropriate to fill up the energy you need. I just want you to take in the energy that is pouring in, and to see and feel it. Everyone has different energy, so you can slowly look at the pictures one by one and feel the peace of mind and energy together. The energy painting works are divided into black holes in the galaxy in the sky, earth, and people, black holes in the earth, black holes in people, black holes between men and women, and black holes between parents and children. The reason why I specifically dot the energy picture is because I feel that nature, the universe, and human beings all start from a single point. It’s about expressing your gratitude with all your heart for that one thing.”

USA, Czech Republic, Romania...

Attention from all over the world

On the 31st, the G-Art Gallery in Insa-dong held an invitation exhibition of four artists in search of enlightenment, and she also participated in the exhibition as one of the four artists. The three artists were Cho Sung-seon, a B2 photography teacher, Tae-Gung Jung, an adjunct professor at Hanseo University, and Dohakheo, who was a finalist at the 3rd Oita Asian Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition. Along with the opening of the exhibition, there was a celebratory performance by the director of the Yasi family, Kim Do-yeon. Kim is a guitarist who is known as a romantic singer, and his arpeggio technique makes the listener feel relaxed and healed. She wants to take care of the bodies and minds of many people through energy paintings that contain good energy. After a busy first half of the year, her next moves are even more noteworthy because Czech Republic and Romania are showing interest in her exhibitions. She is to visit America this July one more time, to have an invitation exhibition in Gangnam, Seoul, and to have exhibitions in Czech and Romania in November this year.
