Samjoong CMTech is the first Korean company to export road pavement materials to China

From water works to new airports in China by our original technologies

Samjoong CMTech, which has been developing and supplying special repair mortar system materials for 25 years, is attracting great attention by exporting special road pavement materials to China for the first time in Korea.

The company develops special packaging materials, and since launching an affiliated research institute 10 years ago, it has been faithfully carrying out new technology patents and government projects. The company has localized the color-patterned concrete construction materials for coating-type flooring, which had relied only on imports, and is now supplying all of them as replacements. The company has also succeeded in localizing all items of non-slip packaging materials and coating-type flooring materials that are registered to the Public Procurement Service, and has more than 22 patents. The company is pouring large part of its resources in manpower and R&D, and is also working to train researchers with the help of the Gyeonggi North Branch of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.

Samjoong CMTech has surpassed German companies to build roads in Beijing, and exports non-slip packaging materials to Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Hebei province and Northeast China. “Right now, we are also doing repair materials and non-slip pavement for new airports in China with our technology.” says CEO Sangho Ji.

Ascrete Non-Slip Method: Ascrete AC Road

The flooring of Samjoong CMTech is made of AM-MMA polymer. AC-MMA polymer is an MMA polymer made of MMA resin, the main component of methylketacrylic acid, which is manufactured with high elasticity, medium elasticity, and hard elasticity, and fused according to the application. MMA resin is used for medical purposes such as contact lenses, artificial joints, and bones, and above all, it is widely used for civil engineering and construction purposes. MMA resin is already in the spotlight as the best solution in Europe as a coating flooring material, and it is an excellent material not only in terms of the look, but also in terms of increasing the durability of buildings and the stability of the environment and the human body.

The method that makes road traffic safe through AC-MMA polymer is Ascrete AC Road. The AC Road, developed by Samjoong CMTech, can dramatically improve the problems of existing road coatings, such as abrasion resistance, anti-slip performance, durability, and discoloration.

It can withstand adverse conditions for a long time and can be applied to asphalt roads, bus lanes, bicycle lanes, school zones, silver zones, hazardous areas, and indoor and outdoor parking lots. “Anti-slip pavement is an important traffic safety facility, but it is indiscriminately constructed because the construction manual is not in place.” points out CEO Ji. As a result of the auditor’s investigation of more than 200 places for existing construction, the rate of defective construction is high, and the system is currently being improved. “Therefore, we have made a manual for construction and maintenance and are thoroughly following the procedures.” says Ji.

From roads to floors in schools

AC Floor, which uses waterproof flooring made of AC-MMA polymer, protects the concrete matrix to eliminate defects such as concrete cracking, and has excellent wear resistance and adhesion, excellent elasticity and strength, so there is no cracking or damage unless there is a major impact from the outside, which contributes to improving the durability of the building for a long time.

It comes in color, quartz, quartz stone, and pearl coatings for a variety of designs, non-slip, and patterns. Using a patented pneumatic spray machine, it can create effects for stencils, pattern designs, logos, letters and shapes.

It is also harmless to the human body, hygiene and the environment. AC Floor has received a harmless environmental certificate, and it has been used in places related to food hygiene in Germany to prove its safety. Therefore, it can also be used as a lunchroom or kitchen flooring, and it is also the first in Korea as well as Asia to receive HACCP certification. “We are the only HACCP certified school lunchroom and classroom flooring. It has been registered with the Public Procurement Service and we are currently working with the Department of Education for lunchroom flooring.” says Ji.
