Coffee Cupper opened the first store on Coffee Street, Gangneung, in 2001, and is now running 6 stores. The Coffee Cupper Coffee Museum (Director Choi Geum-jeong) succeeded the commercial coffee production for the first time in the nation and also is running the nation’s first coffee farm where coffee related events are held on a regular basis. Both the coffee franchise and the museum is received by the locals as a company contributing to creating jobs.
“Coffee Cupper not only sells coffee but also spreads good influence to the people through a number of coffee programs and events. I’m proud to say that we are contributing to creating jobs and promoting regional tourism.” says Choi.
Coffee Cupper Coffee Museum, the largest in the world
The Coffee Cupper Coffee Museum is received as the largest coffee museum in the world. It displays many of coffee devices and props such as extractors and some of them are rare to see. Following Gangneung City, the museum opened in Mang Shi, China, where the locals can try excellence of Korean coffee. Meanwhile, Coffee Cupper has received a number of prizes and citations from public organizations including Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Justice, Gangneung City and Gangwon Province.
