From Centum 2 District to winning Korea Tourism Awards

A new building of Haeundae District is well on track. The reason it should be pointed out first is that the existing office is old and small which has caused inconveniences not only to the public servants but also to the citizens. In addition, it has contributed to unbalanced development of the areas in and around the district. With the target to complete the new building by 2026, it is expected to bring a big change to the district in both quality of living and eco-friendly environment. 

Alongside building a new office, the district is pushing forward building Centum 2 District. It is linked to Centum City and will be created as a knowledge-based service valley that will encompass cutting edge technologies such as IT. 

What is more? Haeundae District is to solve congestion complaints with Bansong Tunnel and Haeundae Tunnel.

Citizen-centered and citizen-participation service!

When asked this year’s plans, the district mayor Kim Seong-su said, “It is my and my team’s top priority to provide citizen-centered and citizen-participated service. Haeundae I think is the hottest district in the nation and building a new office is closely linked to better living environment and administrative services.” 

Under its slogan ‘The city that is inviting and The city you want to come to live!’, the district is determined to reduce civil complaints while improving safety. For this, Kim and his teams are focused on listening to the realistic needs and wants of the citizens and reflect their learning into policies and administration. As for balanced development of the district, Centum 2 District is expected to drive urban regeneration. As for clean environment, the ‘cigarette butt zero campaign’ is the first to be implemented. As for safety, the district is installing more CCTV. As for flawless traffic, Bansong Tunnel and Haeundae Tunnel are set to open. Kim said, “I’ve lived in Haeundae for more than 40 years. As the mayor of the district and of my hometown, I have nothing but sincerity, respect and diligence. I never pursue personal gain but public gain and I’m always ready and open for listening attentively to the needs and wants of the citizens.”
