Readers who are interested in painting or education have probably heard of an institution called a culture center. Cultural centers are literally a space where you can enjoy various cultural activities, and it is operated for the purpose of cultural development and education of the local community, and fostering talents. Then, where is the oldest and most famous place in Korea? It is the Korea Culture Center Association. It is where the members are actively contributing to the cultural development of the local community.

Concentrating on education and exhibition activities in various fields for more than 20 years

The various programs provided by the center play a big role in raising the cultural level of the local community while providing cultural experiences to the local residents. By providing programs tailored to the cultural tastes and demands of local residents, the level of satisfaction among students is also very high here at the Korea Culture Center Association. This place goes beyond just a hobby but serves as an important institution for nurturing future talents. Educators or experts in various craft arts fields give lectures and nurture artists here.

Since its establishment in 2000 as a lifelong educational institution specializing in handicrafts, the center has focused on education and exhibition activities with lectures in various fields for more than 20 years. In particular, those who have insisted on only one path as ‘professional craftsmen’ are dedicated to teaching new craft programs as branch managers and teachers. The purpose of the center is to create an environment in which everyday art can promote other everyday arts while all citizens can feel the joy of creation. The center is doing its best to provide students with opportunities for healing and the happiness of achievement, and branch managers and instructors with the joy of teaching and nurturing younger generations. In the long term, the center is striving to create jobs, develop craft arts, and inherit and develop the tradition of Korean crafts to enhance national prestige. The center plans to actively publicize Korea’s craft arts, while focusing on further enhancing Korea’s craft status that combine professionalism and artistry in earnest.

Starting this year, the center won a grand prize in the Korean handicraft technology education category. An official from the center said, “As we start 2023 anew, we are focusing on overall program renewal work. We will solidify the content by developing new programs, changing stagnant programs, developing materials, and further expanding the scope of activities. We will become an institution that can respond more to those who are interested in crafts, props, and cultural contents. We ask for your interest and support.”
