Samsung Electronics to strengthen US market presence with eco-friendly customized home appliances

Samsung Electronics participated in The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show 2023 held in Las Vegas, USA from January 31 to February 2 and introduced various home appliance lineups. 

KBIS is the largest kitchen and bathroom exhibition in North America with 420 companies and around 70,000 visitors from all over the world engage. Together with Daco, an American luxury built-in kitchen appliance company bought by Samsung in 2016, the South Korean electronic giant set up a 1,003 square meter exhibition hall.

Choi Ik-soo, vice president of Samsung Electronics' home appliance division, said, “Samsung Electronics is expanding the possibilities of customized home appliances with selectable designs and connectivity. Through this KBIS, we will deliver the differentiated value of Samsung Electronics to US consumers and strengthen our leadership in the market.”

Samsung Electronics emphasized various eco-friendly efforts in its exhibition booth with it concept Product Life Cycle and SmartThings Energy. 

Devices connected to SmartThings can check the amount of power consumed at a glance, and when the target usage is exceeded, the AI saving mode saves energy from home appliances. 

It has been recognized for its distinctiveness in the US market, such as obtaining Energy Star certification from the Environmental Protection Agency and winning the CES 2023 Innovation Award.

At the exhibition, Samsung Electronics also introduced its efforts to realize Net Zero Home, a futuristic eco-friendly housing type.

 

Samsung Electronics acquires ISO 22301

Samsung Electronics has obtained ISO 22301 certification, an international standard for BCMS·Business Continuity Management System, from the British Standards Institution. 

The certification means the ability of a company to normalize its business by minimizing the impact and restoring core business in the shortest time even if business is disrupted due to various disasters and calamities.

With this certification, Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business is expected to secure more trust from global customers and strengthen its business competitiveness.

“Samsung Electronics is deeply aware of the importance of business continuity management, and has a world-class crisis monitoring and response system,” said Lim Seong-hwan, CEO of BSI Korea.

Samsung Electronics DS Division Global Manufacturing & Infrastructure Vice President Yun Taeyang said “Through crisis management, Samsung Electronics has established a response system for global supply chain crises as well as traditional risk factors."
