KOTRA sponsored the vulnerable with UK Food Bank

From November 10th to 13th, KOTRA held an event to return some of the sales proceeds from the ‘K-Goods Pop-up Store’ hosted by the London Trade Center to the local community. The pop-up store business ended successfully, recording sales of about £100,000 in four days of operation. The donations will be used for the Hackney Food Bank, a free meal support organization in the UK, the Korean School and Korean Association in London. According to The Trusell Trust, the UK’s largest free meal foundation, more than 1.3 million people have visited soup kitchens in the UK in the last six months. Hackney Food Bank is a charity that provides free meals, food vouchers, and toys for infants and toddlers. Hackney Food Bank is known for providing free meals to around 7,000 residents last year. On the 15th, KOTRA’s London office met Pat Fitzsimons, CEO of Hackney Food Bank, and delivered a donation worth about 10 million won. 11 million won worth of scholarship funds and development funds were also delivered to the Korean School in London and the Korean Association.
