Choo Kyung-ho, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy, visits semiconductor exporters for the New Year

On January 1st, Deputy Prime Minister Choo Kyung-ho visited the Korean Air Cargo Terminal 1 at Incheon International Airport and inspected the semiconductor shipment site of the national cargo plane that will depart for the first time in the new year in 2023. After receiving a report on the current status, he delivered New Year's greetings and words of encouragement to workers and corporate officials. Choo said that exports in 2022 recorded the highest ever, but turned to decline after October, and that in 2023, it is expected to decrease by 4.5% due to shrink of global trade including semiconductors. He said that the government plans to strengthen the supply of trade finance (351 → 360 trillion won) at the highest level ever, export of SMEs, expansion of logistics voucher support (1,075 → 119.7 billion won), and improvement of external debt guarantees by the Export-Import Bank (during the first quarter).
