Choo meets CEOs of SMEs

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance met CEOs of SMEs on May 18 to explain the SMEs policies of the new government and to listen to their difficulties. Choo said that the government would proactively respond to changes of global supply chains and expand support for companies struggling for finding export channels and logistics alongside necessary financial support. He also mentioned that the new government would take bold actions for deregulation but tougher punishment for unfair trade and technology thieves. Other notable policies talked on the day were: unit price indexation and guideline, revise of mediation and coordination systems between the businesses and 52 hour work week, digital shift and eco-friendly policies. The attended CEOs voiced together to lift the regulation that haunts the business on which they could better make contributions to growth of national economy. 

Choo tours Sejong Village Food Street

Choo paid a visit to Sejong VIllage Food Street in Jongno District Seoul considering the soaring price of flour. He listened to the market merchants and checked the quarantine. The merchants complained accumulated debts and sharp rise in interest rate and said that the sales were not yet as good as before the pandemic despite the lifting of social distancing and mask. They asked Choo to make sure of compensation, debt settlement and financial support. Choo thanked the merchants for their had work and promised the compensation should be made speedily for the damages caused by lock down. <PowerKorea>
