Pocket Healing won Counseling Psychology at 2022 Korea Value Management Awards. The company launched a chat based community counseling app ‘hamchi’ to make counseling more approachable and convenient on which it earned credits for the winning.

Hoon Kim, CEO of Pocket Healing, observed a difficulty of people receiving counseling due to social distancing of the prolonging pandemic and thought it an app like hamchi could be an effective tool to carry on the business as normal as before the pandemic. In addition, the app has brought people from one on one room counseling to people to people open chat counseling through collective engagements. 

According to Kim, video chat like Zoom still arouses limitation in expressing one’s feeling but text-based hamchi can lift this psychological barrier each other. 

“I’m working on expanding the scope of the app to a variety of psychological damages such as traumas from accidents and natural disasters in additional to personal and social issues” says Kim. 

The app currently is serviced in Korean, English, French and Japanese. <PowerKorea>
