One thing the pandemic has changed the way we appreciate art is that it has shifted curators and visitors from galleries and museums to online in South Korea, if not other countries. One more thing that is backing up this phenomenon is the advent of non-fungible token that is growing fast in art market.

Non-fungible token is a non-interchangeable nuit of data stored on a blockchain. It is a form of digital ledger and is traded in that virtual space. Because it is uncopiable, some early adopter artists are jumping in the market and a few have made a considerable amount of money from selling their art works. As it is relatively a new market, however, issues on intellectual and property rights still remain to work out.

Thus born is a South Korean art tech company DAS. DAS stands for Decentralized Art Story. DAS is providing equal opportunities to all artists new and old through protection of intellectual and property rights, secondary marketing, selling and profit split.

DAS Chief Security Officer Peter Park emphasizes values of non-fungible token "A true NFT must have unique artistic value and recognition in the market. DAS NFT exhibition halls online offers the public the best quality display experience of newly creates art works as well as masterpieces. It will make appreciating art works more approachable to the public and it will lead the trend in the market."

DAS obtained a patent for O2E (Own to Earn) art-nomics platform and its premium metaverse exhibition space is designed for collaboration with artists and public institutions. Digital art works displayed in the space are selected from famous artists and curators.

DAS works together with prestigious museums and galleries in the world to build global networks and to make digital art works. It is notable that DAS is a partner of Gulf News NFT project team and they are working on a project at the moment. Gulf News is a daily English language newspaper published from Dubai. Also in partnership is the Korea New Art Association and the Korea International Art Exchange Association.

DAS CEO/CTO Young Sub Jeong used to work for Samsung Electronics as a security system developer and consultant. DAS CEO/COO RJ. Park who is in charge of realistic media and ultra high definition digital technology says "The trend is moving fast towards group purchase and subscription from traditional owning. In other words, digital art market has a huge potential to grow and technology and security in this respect play a significant role in terms of realizing NFT exhibitions and security."

As to prove it, DAS wowed industry experts and visitors alike with its super-ultra 30K resolution technology that enlivened every single touch of brush and texture of art works at the CES 2022.

More than 200 artists are working in collaboration with DAS at the moment. Around 10,000 art works have been made into 18K digital images of which more than 600 are dynamic digital media arts. All works are traded for stable value in order to prevent drop of the value of the work. Intellectual and property rights are protected by the legal team of DAS.

Taking the momentum, DAS is to open DAS Metaverse 1.0 July this year: 100 registered artists will display their works to be sold and booths will also be pitched up for famous art museums and galleries in the world. <PowerKorea>
