[Tyng a Knot]
Finding your other half is one of the biggest events in your life. Behind the love in first site lays a great part of realistic considerations from personality, financial ability and family background. If you are sociable, you do not need to much worry about how to meet and how to go out. But if you are not that sociable a character, you might need a help from a wedding consultant. There is a saying “Love has no borders”. Those who ardently wish to have a family do not take one’s national background seriously as long as love happens to spark. And the same applies to lovers between South and North Korea.
[Eveme Wedding Consulting]
Opening services 17 years ago, Eveme Wedding Consulting has helped more than 900 couples tie the knots between South and North Koreans. Minjeong Kim, CEO of Eveme Wedding Consulting praises North Korean women as to value more of character and money, have strong ability to maintain livelihood, and royal to their husband. To be a member and take services, you go through these steps: interview – document screening – register – consulting – matching. As of 2021, Eveme Wedding Consulting has more than 2,000 registered women members and many from 20s to 60s male members. The reason behind this excellent result is CEO Kim’s principle of taking care of every single client with utmost attention to detail to make the match successful. It is notable that many women members call Kim like mom or sister. This is not surprising at all if you know Kim has been attending the member’s wedding or their baby’s first year birthday party. In other words, the services do not end on finishing the matching but Kim and her team builds friendship for life. One more thing Eveme Wedding Consulting is famous in the industry is that there is no matching fee but only the membership fee. “This is because we don’t take wedding as to make money out of it but we take it as to help women from the North settle down in the South” says Kim. Eveme Wedding Consulting has received numerous prizes including Consumer Trust Satisfaction for 3 years in a row from 2019 to 2021.
Kim escaped from the North to the South in 2005. She had only one dream: to have a family in the South. She knocked doors of wedding consulting many times during which she was offered a job. She took it and after building knowhow in the field, she established her own wedding consulting. Although she limited number of matching up to 6 times but she often broke her own rule until her client finds the right one which spread fast from mouth to mouth. “One tip I would like to give to men in the South is that they need to lower their expectations and keep balanced assessment on both sides including oneself” advises Kim.
